It's the one I have, basic, but does what it says on the tin. Minimal extra features and kinda bulky. But good if you just want to watch the series.
 
OMG, it finally came!! YAY! The boxset is lovely, much smaller than it looks in photos, nice and tidy! There's a huge booklet and it's just all so pretty! I can't wait to get stuck into this series!

Box set sizes are always odd aren't they? You tend to forget the size of normal DVD's

I caught some of the Dub recently on the Anime Network and i have to say, i thought they were very lackluster; and just a bit over the top, Slight story differences as well; for the bits that i have seen anyway.

I'm probably placing my order for the box set tonight on the Virgin Website. :).

I was originally going to wait till Xmas, but if its selling out; it'll be best to get it while i still can.
 
Nah, I like the dub. It's good enough, Misato's voice is fun and stuff!

Yes, definately go for it now. They won't be there by Xmas and they are sold out on pretty much every other site. There was only 1000 ever manufactured, I think.
 
Shinji just seems angsty and stuff now, I can't imagine him being depressed or anything, though that seems to be what people are saying about Shinji.

Its not full on depressed, its kind off. . .Its hard to explain, you'll need someone more intellectual to explain it; or continue watching the series' and see how and when the developments in his personality take place.
 
So, I've just finished what the guide called the "Prolouge Arc" (eps 1 - 7) and ... wow! It's frickin' amazing! It's really exceeded my very high expectations and has completely removed any doubts I had about the series! Shinji is an awesome character, the Evas are amazing, the music is great, the characters are fantastic! It's all just really great!

Can't wait to find out about what the Eva are, the Angels and NERV! :D

Well remember he's a 14 year old boy who lost his mother his father walked out on him and wants nothing to do with him or though shinji craves his fathers appreciation,who's easily picked on with no self estem what so ever and no one to ever support him or told him other wise.
Then your pretty much guilt tripped into piloting the eva/doing something against your will(thats pretty cool).
It's exactly how i imagined how he would be or any if you were raised like that.

Whaaat? Shinji is totally awesome, great character! Probably (even after only 7 eps) one of my favourite characters ever! And he's not being emo - gah, that word is used too often!

I gotta agree with that.
 
EVA is great and the characters fit into it perfectly in my opinion. Gotta get around to watching it through start till finish and then the movies again.
