Naruto coming to the UK?

These channels can't ignore it's success in the US for much longer.

yes but as we've seen money is a problem for the UK Toonami

DBZ was doing great in the UK and US but instead of keeping with the funi/ocean versions of both they reverted the cheaper and baddly dubbed bridge and blue water dubs

i forgot about Jetix, but seeing its owned by disney i'm not holding out too much hope.

TBF i still think we need adult swim to come out or scifi to return for anime to show the uk industry how powerful the potential is. Someone needs to take the gamble NOW before the bubble bursts

Wow that will be great.
I'm behind with all my anime news it seems (the flu has certainly been a hindrance), i will look forward to getting it on dvd, and i know my mum will too :)

man if this does get through, then i would be praying for the ultimate!
One Piece!
i mean they could easily release it in its original japanese form and just put subs. that would be awsome!

but first, lets hope this gets through!

If naruto does come i think it should be on toonami because so far toonami started putting these old 90's shows that they claim to be "new" .I thought that toonami was like the best anime channel but look at them now. :?

i emailed MVM about 2 months ago, they told me tht naruto license has been bought, but they wudnt tell me who by, or what format, i doubt its them, or else they wudnt have given me such juicy info
does this count as an info leak?

and also, heres a link to the edits of the 1st 20 episodes, some is ok, but some is annoying

If we get Naruto in this country it will likely be the uncut dual-language rather than the cut version although it wouldn't be completely out of the question that one of the more "mainstream" cartoon distributors has picked it up for distribution.

If Viz is planning to open a UK office I would guess they would be doing it with Naruto. That would make more sense than giving it to someone else. If Manga was to get it but want to put it out uncut they would have to redub it with their own cast. Not impossible but a bit expensive when a dub already exist, though slightly edited. Still it's not like MVM to be tooting their horn for someone elses party if they aren't going to benefit from it in some way.

I think an uncut dub would have been produced at the same time as the edited-for-tv version? It would make sense to do it that way.

I noticed that Australia's biggest anime company Madman (who do a lot of DVD authoring work for the UK companies) recently announced that they've picked up Naruto too, so yeah, if it's not MVM that's got Naruto, it has to be Manga; consider that in the latest issue of NEO, they've taken out an entire page just to hype up their "massive" announcement at the London Expo.
