Marvel vs Capcom 3

Remaining characters left to be announced according to multiple leaks:

Hsien-Ko & Phoenix
Mike Haggar & Sentinel
Taskmaster & Akuma (Both unlockable)
Galactus is the final boss.

Frank West and Mega Man won't be in the game, the former due to his supers including zombies lagging up the game and Mega Man isn't "unique" enough.

So, how much of a collector are you? No, seriously. Capcom are kinda putting down a lotta incentives for you to put forward a pre-order. Blockbuster, GAME, Gamestop, HMV, TheHUT, Xtravision all have different t-shirts available with pre-order, Shop-to has a comic and Gamestation has a steelbook edition:

So yeah, where are you getting yours from?

Hmm. Hmmmmmmm. Gotta be honest, the only one I'm ruling out at first glance is the Steel Book. Will be a tough choice amongst the others, unless Japan or the States gets a better looking LE package.

Argh... I knew something like this would happen =P I really wanted to rent it before buying to check I could hack it (not usually a big fighting gamer), but I really like the look of the comic book. I'm a sucker for LE comics. The Arkham Asylum one was really cool (Carlos D'Anda is an amazing artist) so I might just be swayed...

Do you guys reckon renting Street Fighter IV might be a good way to see if I'm up to it? Obviously MVC2 would be better but I'm not gonna buy it so I can buy the sequel.

Hmm, if you can play Tatsunoko vs Capcom on the Wii, that's also quite close to it. It's like a cross between that and MvC2 (sort of). SFIV is not really close enough.

So yeah the leak list I posted is pretty much legit, I honestly can't wait, the roster is pretty bad for the most part, but it can't get much better than this. Two characters I would have loved to see in it are Regina (Dino Crisis) and Old Lace (Runaways) but it's not going to happen.

Can't =/ No wii. SFIV came in the post today and, controls aside, I can tell it's massively different. It's good for practicing my dragon punches though, but there's so much they assume I know which is kind of annoying, like punch and kick doing a weird smoky counter thing. (I rented so no RTFM plz), but basically it's fun enough that I think I'll have a good time with MVC3 =)

Quick question. How does SFIV compare with MVC2 difficulty wise? I'm not talking PVP I mean like arcade mode etc, I'll only be playing local and arcade, but even on easy I'm getting my ass handed to me, though I did manage to win a few rounds.

I understand half the thing with fighters is practice and, in time I'm sure I'll be ok with it, I was just wondering how the um...base difficulty is I guess.

Taskmaster looks insane, Akuma I didn't use in MvC2

Why on earth is Gambit not in here? Royal Flush, Shinku Hadkoken and Rocket Launcher was one of the best team hypers in my opinion

SFIV arcade mode is kind of bad, once you get used to the game it will either provide a) no challenge or b) move it up to a difficulty level where the computer command reads all the time and you just have to play to set patters. It's hard to make good vs.CPU modes in fighters, though.

Highly likely Megaman will be DLC if he's not in the roster. That's pretty harsh of capcom to make one of the most popular characters DLC =/ Arguably their flagship character no less. They'll probably not put him with Gambit though, more likelywith someone worthless and then Gambit with a worthless Capcom character so they dubble teh munnies.

Why? This is why:
