Manga Entertainment need to take a chill pill

Alright, any sympathy I had for Jerome's twitter activities is now gone. The guy is a div, and he knows he's being a div, he's not even trying.
Indeed, Div's are for HTML, not for behaviour online!

Isn't that Jeremy's tweet since he took over??
That's clearly Jerome. It's not like he doesn't have access to Twitter any more, he just won't be running it himself. Jeremy has taken to signing his tweets to make it clear.

I wish people would just leave Jerome's personal account alone. Sure, the main conversation there seems to have been sparked by Jerome himself, but...

Oh wait, that's sensible and this is the internet.

tbf if he didn't want people to know it, he shouldn't post on the mangauk twitter so everyone can find it :D

Just when you think that things may have changed for the better we get a response like this...

@MangaUK been really enjoying "Emma: A Victorian Romance" on Netflix! It's so British and charming, any chance of a DVD release?

Not from us. Ask Revelation. ^JG

If you don't know that Revelation have been dead as an anime distributor for over three years, you shouldn't be opining about the state of the UK industry as a company rep!

Did Revelation even have "Emma: A Victorian Romance" anyway?*

* Doesn't list it on ANN,

It's not been licensed for UK physical distribution. It's a Nozomi Ent title in the US, which is streaming to the UK here on Netflix under the Manga Ent label, although Nozomi occasionally stick it on Youtube for UK viewers as well.

Why Revelation would have it, as in their latter days as anime distros they were just a Funimation outlet, is beyond me...

I wonder if he is being a bit cleverer than you guys are giving him credit for, and implying that releasing niche shows like Emma on DVD is the kind of thing that lead to Revelation's demise as an anime distro.

The fatal flaw in that plan being that he would have to come off as clever in any other instance and not, say, a whino who's main MO is to complain whenever a legitimate complaint is levied at him and act like he's pants on head whenever someone levies an illegitimate one.

This wasn't the old guy, it's the new guy. He's taken to signing his tweets with a JG to avoid confusion.

Seems like someone sent in a letter of complaint to Manga and now Jerome's jacked in Twitter altogether.

I received a personal letter of complaint tonight re my actions on twitter on 21-July. I can only offer my most sincere apologies.. for my atrocious behaviour. Upon reflection I realize what schmuck I have been. I am glad I've left running our tweets to someone.. more responsible with this powerful tool. I am truly sorry for being so horrid to you. Thanks everyone for listening.

How bizarre. I don't think anyone had a problem with him saying whatever he wanted on his personal account in the first place, in fact it's quite interesting to get a human perspective from reps on their own accounts when it's not filling up customers' timelines and obfuscating actual company release information. That must have been one heck of a letter to get through to him about flaming where hundreds of requests in the past had failed.

My memory's fuzzy, what did he exactly say on the 21st?

If I remember correctly, someone sent him a tweet insulting Manga's decision to release the Gintama movie without doing the series, and he responded with 'F*** off'.

Revelation isn't dead, they just don't do anime anymore. They had Beck, Mongolian Chop Squad, and Hell Girl which were far from "niche" and they still choked on finishing the series. Reason? Anime was just too much for them to handle and really wasn't their main line of product in the first place. In short, it was just a side dish, not the main course, hence it kept being put back for more important [to them] other things to get out first. The implication that VR Emma would fail in the UK is just plan ludacris.

Ah. Right. Yeah, I have no complaints with what happened.

It's one thing when he's rude, that's quite the other.
