Looks like the only Funi licenses Manga has coming out later this year are DBZ Resurrection F & Noragami. They've pushed back Noragami to a TBA date so who knows if that's still going to be released.

And not to mention Danganronpa the Animation, upupupupu (*Monokuma voice*)

Funimation haven't announced a release date for Danganronpa yet so I don't expect Manga UK to just simply release theirs just yet.

I suppose Anime Ltd could jump in when Fairy Tail switches to the second part (ie. The currently airing material) but as far as I recall the English releases are still a fair way with catching up to that.

It's really annoying some people aren't buying blu rays. I know it might sound a little selfish but I really hope DVDs become obsolete real soon so that DVD only releases become obsolete too and everything gets put out on blu ray. Probably unlikely to happen any time soon but I man can dream.

Didn't even know Funi had Danganronpa tbh, for some reason i thought it was a Sentai license

Manga has released upto Part 9 whereas Funi has released upto Part 16 i think. Parts 1-15 was the 1st series so Part 16 onwards is the 2nd.

I wish that would happen not only to the Anime market but to the general film/tv market but i doubt it'll happen as casual buyers will just buy dvds, go into any supermarket, HMV etc and the blu-ray section is probably a quarter of the size of the dvd section :(

To put a little more oil into the conspiracy fire, somebody explicitly asked Anime Ltd. about it on Facebook, the comment has now vanished...

I mean lets be honest here, physical media is for all intents and purposes obsolete. They're always coming up with new formats but I don't really see life after Blu-ray, and this is coming from a person who loves and invests in physical media and detests the notion of an all digital future, but it is what it is. Blu-ray has never caught up with DVD and never will.

Noticed this too...I can't see Anime Limited doing a Fairy Tail, but it's still kinda odd.

Jerome may have been commenting specifically on Fairy Tail but his comments seemingly relate to the entirety of FUNimation's UK catalogue. Perhaps AL didn't want to piss FUNimation off.

And Andrew is apparently friendly with Jerome, so perhaps they pulled the comment to avoid upsetting him, because he's clearly not having the best day ever.

AL haven't said anything, it was Manga making the comments. All AL did was remove a post regarding Fairy Tale from their Facebook page.

Ah cool, I read back over the last page and got the general gist of it. I doubt there's anything concrete re: Funi/AL, just that it looks like Aniplex and now (potentially) Funi don't want to deal with Manga...or is it just the FT license they don't trust them with?

Who would Jerome/animatsu have gone through for Raildex? Funimation?

I imagine they would have had to. Maybe Funi are okay with Animatsu? Maybe this is a really recent thing? Only a handful of people really know and I doubt we'll find out anytime soon.

It's very likely a Fairy Tail specific thing. If Funimation hold the UK rights, then they've probably kept an eye on the numbers it was doing, and when it didn't hit what they wanted, they pulled it. As mentioned, it looks to be a Viewster title, so it could be going digital only for the UK.

I believe Rail/Index are handled by NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan, rather than FUNimation, as it's their logo not FUNi's on the cover.

It was already being simulcast by Crunchyroll, perhaps this is an attempt to relaunch the show. I'd rather watch from the beginning, so they probably won't get my viewership...

I just noticed on a post on the Manga UK page, someone asked about Fairy Tail, and Jerome replied "I don't believe we will be offered any more Fairy Tail for UK by the UK rights holder, Funimation. Speak to Anime Ltd. They are announcing a lot of Funimation stuff at the moment like Ping Pong and Gangsta. That's why we have no new Fairy Tail news for you." :S Wtf is going on over there.
Let's be honest here. If what Is said is true, is it really a bad thing? I'd trust Anime Limited far more to put out an acceptable release of a show than I would Manga. I love Jerome and he is an entertaining bloke, but I'd hardly be surprised if he has pissed off Aniplex and/or Funi considering the comments he comes out with on Twitter. It's not a good way to sell yourself or your company since I (and assumedly others) view him as the face of Animangatsu.

I think the concern here is that it might take Manga down, since many of their popular titles originated from FUNi.

FUNi's Dragonball licenses never include the UK (although they do include Australia). All of manga DB licenses are with Toei (other than Battle Of Gods which was with Fox)

Geneon/NBCUniversal. This is why the license has taken so long; Starz couldn't enter into a relationship with Universal when they were part of due to the paperwork involved basically amounting to handing business sensitive information to a competitor. Animatsu being separate from Manga/Starz makes this possible.

Well, he has caused strain with FUNimation in the past; specifically saying they have something before FUNimation have actually announced it (Eva Rebuild and Summer Wars wasn't it?).
