Manga are releaseing DBZ. 2+2 DOES equal 5!

Well we got asked to pull the news item over on UKA (which I've reluctantly done) but to be honest it's all over the place now so it's way too late.

As badly kept secrets go, this is up there with the PSP Go :)

Awww, trying to enact censorship on the internet? How naive Manga UK xD

I love how he's ignoring tweets that actually show the photo.
I love how they're also ignoring tweets with regards to delayed shows, i'm getting a feeling that they're trying to hide a cancellation.
Any particular titles brought up a lot?
Should have extra checked my post - i'm only referring to one title myself - Kenichi...

Right, I'm sick of this nonsense. This is ridiculous. The advert is THERE, available for public viewing. Even if they retroactively remove the advert, denying it exists at this point is pretty much up and out lying.

It galls me, GALLS ME, that they will deny "The greatest action cartoon of all time" but they will dance and sing from the godamned rooftop about the likes of Dance in the Vampire Bund, a show that takes the source manga (which is an adult work with some loli elements but uses them to show how utterly hosed up those elements are) and just makes 6 hours of badly directed Loli Porn and Strike Witches which, above everything else, is Gonzo but the moment they have a show which might have mass appeal, they will run like they were from 1350 and Mass Appeal was the Black Death.

I mean what will they honestly do if we didn't pull the news? (Not to say I don't approve of the action) Not release Dragonball Z? I don't see how that suddenly precludes anyone going to UP1, Otkau.co.uk or any other decent UK anime import shop and get the boxes there.

Manga need to get a reality check and soon.

That or get bought by Kaze and put under management that actually knows what the **** it's doing, ether works.

i wouldn't dare risk putting poor andrew incharge of that mess
Given that he will have to wrangle those monkies every time he would want to get Tiger and Bunny or Persona 4 out, it's not much of a difference. Kaze France are certainly doing a good job of emulating the hell hole Manga must be right now.

At this point, I, someone who has no formal education in business or PR, (BSC Hons Web Development, undergoing MA 3D Design) could probably run Manga better than it is currently being run.

Hanners on UKanime put it best

There is no UK release of Dragon Ball Z, all you saw yesterday was swamp gas reflecting the light from Venus. You can just go about your business, nothing to see here...

now then before i send any angry tweets to manga, i must make sure i've logged out of the AUKN twitter account :D

You have to admit, the confusing way they are handling this is making the news more interesting than it would otherwise normally be. I for one am now incapable of forgetting that Manga UK has DBZ :D

This is certifiably insane. Distros honesty sign contracts for series' as old as DBZ with a proviso that there is a certain date they can release this information publicly? Why would the friggin' licensor even give a damn when it's long been released in both the US and Japan?

Bit late but shouldn't releaseing be releasing or am I missing the point of some inside joke or something.

Oh it's true, I'm tired of thinking about the gaffs and other BS so let's just celebrate anyway (it Is Nozawa Masako's birthday too after all as well, so double celebration I guess! :D)

Given that this is Toei animation, they probably just do it for the hell of it.

And was that your avatar before this mess, Ryo?

Yeah, Toei probably threatened to cut someone's balls off if the information was leaked one second early.

This is the same Toei that tried to shut the Internet down completely when an episode of One Piece got out early on the Funimation web portal, they did shut Funimation down, and when Funimation's web portal came back up, it was region locked to the US, and with tighter security than Fort Knox, before that we in the UK used to get the shows as well.

I think they should probably just have ignored all tweets about it so the handful of people who still didn't know on Sunday (having ignored the Expo leaflets somehow) could still act surprised ^^;

Hassling them about it doesn't really seem worthwhile, all it does is make them tweet more offensive things which make me sad inside.

I have a vision of the anime panel at the MCM Expo this year. Announcement time... brass band fanfare, fireworks going off, banners unfurling, special guests lined up to add their promotional chops... And the new licence is...

*crickets chirping*

Bet that surprised ya!

*tumbleweed rolls past*
