MVM had an update on their Facebook page, confirming that Ikki Tousen Dragon Destiny will have a November release date.

Someone asked about Extras, and if the OVA mini episodes will be included but...

It will yet sadly we've just been informed the BBFC have had to cut parts of the first mini for being 'overly sexual'

Am I just being blind or is that comment no longer there?

you'll see there alike

if you ask me the BBFC are freakin nazi

( you watch what WE show you )
1) BBFC and FCC are nothing alike. In the US, you can't say the f or s-words on cable. Let alone network TV. Over here, you can say anything but c**t on BBC1 after 9pm, and for DVD's you'd only get a 12.

2) Family Guy isn't a great show for getting facts from.

3) The BBFC aren't nazis. They're not telling you what to watch. They simply saw it as inappropriate. Yes, we disagree with it. But that's what politics are.

i thought it would be funny to compare bbfc and fcc.
anyway theres one thing they didn't count on

ordering from a country that didn't censor anything or they won't release dvds over here
bbfc 0 - consumers 1

besides who are they to say whats inappropriate.

i mean yeah there are a few things that shouldn't be shown iv got a few but im not going to say.

1. I want to be able to say c*nt on the BBC after 9pm.

2. They're not telling you what to watch, but by cutting and banning they are determining what you can't purchase legally for viewing in the UK. And doing regional distributors out of sales in the process as people will just download / import the uncut versions (in other words, they are both ineffective and bad for business). This is after regional distributors have had to pay them extortionate fees to have their releases rated by them in the first place.

3. Yes, it's politics all right. A small, unaccountable minority given power by a begrudging consensus of the uninformed public, which holds an unreasonable amount of power to interfere in the lives of individuals. That doesn't make it a good thing.

i mean we have porn in this country that can be released in adult shops ( i only presume there is ) thats 1000x no 100.000x worse then this.

i know this is american but bear with me
ok how many of you watched tom and jerry as a kid. i did and it was so funny with the light violence of hitting the other and mouse traps in the fingers.

but the new tom and jerry show sucks, its nothing like the old shows. and not even the fans want to watch it.
what im trya to say is give people what they want to see and no one will make a fuss.

ignore me im speaking nonsense again. im trying to say this the best i can but i dont know how to say it better

No one replied to my post before, but if I was right and the comment about the cuts is no longer on Facebook, perhaps there is a little hope that it will be uncut after all. What I am assuming are the offending episodes don't appear to be on the BBFC's website at the moment (I haven't seen any of this series so someone correct me if I'm wrong), so perhaps there is a little wrangling going on.

Something similar happened with the release of Dario Argento's Inferno on Blu Ray. Initially the BBFC was going to make a small cut to it, but after objections from the distributor and fans they changed their minds and waived the cut. Could the same happen here? Of course, I could be wrong and I'm just not seeing the Facebook post

If I recall the Facebook post, as soon as MVM mentioned that the OVA ep was cut, someone piped up telling everyone to import instead, which is probably why the posts were deleted.

The proof will come when the BBFC publish the details.

Yet more proof of how utterly redundant they are. If cuts are made according to BBFC guidelines (rather than say, whim of the individual censor) that kind of thing shouldn't be happening.

If the cut shouldn't have been made in the first place then the censor who decided upon it didn't do their job properly. If so the BBFC need to apologise. If it should have been made, allowing it to pass through uncut is in violation of their own guidelines.

if thats the case do you think they'll keep information like that to them selfs so next time if they do cut something and don't tell us about it.

As JPT mentioned, we'll always find out via the BBFC website anyway. They're obliged to make public their ratings / cuts and the reasons behind them as they need to constantly justify their existence.

if they took the posts down cause of someone told everyone to buy a outside the uk uncut release then that means if everyone got the idea to do that then the BBFC would be in trouble.

however if the bbfc stopped cutting our anime series then theres no problem and il go back to buying uk releases that hasn't been cut.

look we have porn in this country right the bbfc doesn't mess with that, otherwise the customers would be p***** about the cuts.

in code geass they cut a few seconds for cause it looked sexual or something and the in other movies and series get a pass.

im angry i know.

No, the for-profit company releasing the series in the UK would be in trouble as it puts people off buying their localised release. The BBFC are never in any danger because they're a state sanctioned quango.

Unless by trouble you mean "failing to protect the British public from indecent material" which they've never been able to do anyway. They even rate our porn, for what it's worth, given that anyone can type "boobs" into Google image search.

The details are up at the BBFC now

http://www.bbfc.co.uk/AVV281412/

Only 22 seconds worth of the 1st OVA episode is left, after 2 minutes 49 seconds are cut out. There's not much point in putting it on the disc then.

Since we're not going to get it here, I went and Googled.

22 seconds amounts to the end credits.
XD... WHAT? They cut the whole thing!

What did the OVA actually contain?

Hot springs episode, little girl accompanies big girls to the springs, starts wondering why she hasn't got breasts yet... Decides to check everyone else's breasts by giving them a feel, and as per anime convention, just brushing up against a boob activates it as an erogenous zone.

I have to admit the cutting actually prompted me to go and check it out too (I have the R1 set somewhere in my backlog). It was sort of mindless, though I can see why the people who saved us from the filth of that single frame of Code Geass probably had an apoplexy.

OAVs can be any length. Short omake OAVs like this are pretty common.
