FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: The greatest story ever told. Re-told.

Still not sure what to think about this. I did enjoy the anime and I've never read the manga, but this sounds like a waste of my time if I were to watch something that's just a repeat of half of the original anime.

That'll probably be my reaction to seeing Envy's true form animated.

Whenever anything as critically acclaimed as FMA is remade it is almost always a disappointment. Things that did badly first time round or had serious flaws I can understand the merits of trying to do better, but I've never understood what people are thinking (other than dollar/yen signs) when they try to improve on something which is already so beloved by so many people. Faithfulness to the source material does not necessarily equal a good remake...

Mustang looks all right, now. I'm becoming increasingly psyched, as they say.

though I'm pretty sure I'll be waiting a good 2 or 3 years for the FUNimation version, as I much prefer the American dub actors.

*cries in folded arms*
2 to 3 years? damn them!
i'm just finishing off the series...and love it to pieces...i couldn't watch the dub....mainly because the dub and the sub are different and i prefer to hear the actors rather than listening to a high pitched shouting of a japanese actor...i'd also prefer to listen and watch the anime...instead of reading he subtitles and misssing half of whats going on :/

Well, look how long it's taken them to release the new Eva movie. If it takes them that long to license and dub something Eva-related (which I assume is about as popular as FMA) then it doesn't look too good for this new series. I hope they keep the entire original dub cast :]

i hope they keep the american cast too. i don't think i could enjoy it if the voices wheren't the same as what the original anime is.

I've actually seem FMA Sub and Dub so I wouldn't mind watching the remake either way, it was the same thing after all =P

But I haven't actually read the manga..(yet).. so I don't know about the difference between them, but I will watch the remake and hopefully get around the reading though the manga as well..

The new FMA anime isn't even out yet and speculation won't get you far, Funi will get this and very quick. (Unless they want another ****** GONZO anime)

Sounds like the opening theme's playing in the background.

That trailer has me giddy with excitement, to be honest. I love the original anime series an awful lot, and even if they're going with the inferior manga story, it's still FMA and I can't wait :]

Romi Paku as Edward Elric
Rie Kugimiya as Alphonse Elric
Megumi Takamoto as Winry Rockbell
Shinichiro Miki as Roy Mustang
Fumiko Orikasa as Riza Hawkeye
Kenji Utsumi as Alex Louis Armstrong
Keiji Fujiwara as Maes Hughes
Yuji Ueda as Jean Havoc
Kenji Hamada as Vato Falman
Kaori Nazuka as Maria Ross
Hidekatsu Shibata as King Bradley
Kenta Miyake as Scar
Kikuko Inoue as Lust
Tetsu Shiratori as Gluttony
Minami Takayama as Envy
Hiroyuki Yoshino as Kimblee
Kouichi Yamadera as Isaac

Japanese cast confirmed. Isaac is an original character.

I do like the sound of that opening though, I'm not sure who it is, could be a new band getting their big break through FMA.

I'm actually interested in who Isaac is meant to be also. I'm hoping he doesn't turn out to be some form of major character/plays only a minor role, as it seems rather stupid to add filler/anime only characters into a season which will quite obviously have enough content to last for a good long while before it even has to consider it.
