Figure discussion/picture thread

I knew you would order that Subaru figure, damn my rules.

I actually didn't think you would order a Sonico figure (I'm sure we'd discussed her before and you weren't a massive fan), but I love her too.

I have predered GSC's Homura and Kurisu, though.

Usually i wouldnt order cast-off figures. I would have preferred to get the Black version of Sonico but unfortunately its hard to get a hold off now

Btw, there is another Subaru figure in the offing which isnt as risque which should fit in with your rules nicely ;)

Yessssssssss preordered a Yamada army to fight against my Poplars. ^_^

Today Ed arrived to join my incredibly pathetic Nendoroid puchi collection. I have no idea why he appealed to me so much more than every other Ed figure. It was hard to attach the coat with my level of physical dexterity but it seems to be staying put now :S

I still have residual trauma after snapping my tiny Lloyd (Geass) figure in half when putting him together. Thankfully superglue made him stronger than ever ;_;

Now I usually get my other half to assemble my figures for me, because I'm too mighty.

This upset me just reading it, Lennie. ;)

Quick question, I'm not sure how many of you it affects but anyway: Do you guys prefer plastic or cloth capes/cloaks on figures?

I'm just curious to see who prefers which. For me I always prefer plastic. It just looks better to my eyes and fits better with the figure. Cloth may allow for more poseability, but it also can look cheap very easily. My Darth Vader figure's cloak is pratically semi transparent and doesn't look especially threatening. Not to mention cloth capes can tear so much more easily.

Well, a cloth cape (unless it has some major designing and construction) would only drape down. Not back for a stance that's motionless.
Compare that to what Ed's doing in the above pic, and it's not as impressive or easy to get the motion effect that the solid plastic/resin has after the moulding.

Another issue with cloth clothing on minitures/figures would be the difference of "weight2 gravity would have on material of that scale. Something as bulky as basic human size would indeed have more stress on it than something smaller scale. Due to it's mass, there's more to drag closer to the centre/earth's core.

I'd stick with plastic, to be frank.

I personally don't like mixed materials in figures, other than when they carefully use differently textured plastics for special effects.

Plastic, for sure, unless it was more of a "doll" than a "figure", I suppose.

Got my Pixtone BRS figures in, boy were they delayed for such small figs. Hopefully the Touhou ones won't be too delayed.

I was in Toys R Us with my little brother and I saw they had the Reshiram and Zekrom boxes in. I got Reshiram, my brother got Zekrom. I forgot my pin number so had to get my Mum to remind me - very embarrassing, especially as the check out girl was hot.

Anyways, here's the Reshiram figure. Bigger than I thought it would be (it's just a bit shorter than a DS game box; 3x the size of the small starter figures given out with tins recently):

Forgetting the pin was the embarassing part about buying pokemon figures in Toys R Us? (I kid, I kid :p Bravo for not being self-conscious, it's the main reason I buy figures on ebay (actually that's a lie, it's actually because the nearest Toys R Us is a massive pain to drive to and the only stuff I'd get there would be SW figures...))

Hehe, his main face makes him look like he's mad that someone miniaturized him. XD
