It kind of sounds like it should be at the end of Thomas the Tank Engine, but I find myself singing it quite a bit

Really? In my experience most people prefer the first one.

"What's Up People" and the second OP sequence is definitely self parody (dancing Ryuk!), but I also think it brilliantly sets the tone for the episodes in the second half of the series. Plus it's not the typical J-rock with the typical theatrical male vocal that the first OP is

Paranoia Agent has fantastic OPs and EDs. Spice and Wolf II... hmm, I think I prefer the first season's OP. I love the way the song and visuals start off light and breezy but turn darker as it progresses. First season's ED is irresistably catchy.

I'm going to be boring and say Paranoia Agent, too. Like the whole series the opening and ending themes are truly sublime.

Also Choose Me, the opening from the Kimagure Orange Road OVAs.

Very eighties (I'm a sucker for it), and I love how they use the opening of the first episode of the TV series and drench it in sepia. Fragile memories for those guys.

My issue with that one is that, while it would have made for a good AMV, I consider it very lazy to make an OP entirely using footage from the first few episodes with no unique animation. Stellvia was even worse in this regard since all the animation was taken from the first episode.
