Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs

Yeh khazi are they all like this then?

Not all, some of their releases are decent, but in terms of the UK distributors, they've probably the most likely to release shows with errors, be it on disc or on the box. I know about 3 or 4 of their Bleach releases have the totally incorrect description on the back, often from the season prior.

If misprints are good enough to place a release on this list, at what point do we just add Anime Ltd.'s entire catalogue?

;)

Haha. To be fair we've had AL and Manga releases on the list for the crime of mislabelled discs, and since the actual content is correct Kaze's mistake actually makes it look better (in a way) to a confused new buyer!

If we listed every typo we would probably need to upgrade the server to handle the sheer size of the list >_>

Old story and not sure if someone brought it up but didn't a girl get magic madoka and it turned out to be porn? How bad do discs have to be? I'm making a habit of buying some blurays myself but I've been lucky so far . Only issue I've seen is a scratch on one of my ergo proxy discs but it works

MVM's From The New World part 1 BD disc 2 has fixed versions? o.o
When I bought mine with a disc that wouldn't play for me at all in 2015, I got the info from MVM that the sales were so small, that a reprint would not be done. Did that change by now?

It's ambiguous sorry; there are two separate problems I think. The sync issue (same as Sentai) and the not-playing issue, which isn't fixed in the UK but is not an issue in the US. Is that correct?

I preordered From the New World part 1 from MVM and received a borked disc 2. When I contacted them they sent a replacement no questions asked, as if they knew there was a problem with some copies, and that one worked. That they later claimed all copies were equally borked was therefore a source of great confusion to me.

I've tried everything to get the content off my Part 1 Disc 2 for From the New World. Impossible.

I'm annoyed I'll need to use the DVD for those 4 episodes if I ever want to rewatch.

They were from the same print run and the defect appears to be something on the discs being incompatible to some machines. Australia seemed to have no problems, but UK area had issues. (Sounds a lot like what happened with the Haruhi Movie and why it didn't get released on BD in the UK.)
I've had 4 copies and all of them didn't work for me. 2 copies for me an an acquaintance each, we returned them, got outselves new ones, still the same. We didn't bother to try any more copies, after MVM said, it concerns all of them. I went to get the Sentai ones afterwards and kept the UK one for the artwork.

My replacement Blu-ray disc plays on the same player - my PS3, which at the time was the only player I used - that wouldn't play the original copy. For this reason the player compatibility explanation also confuses me.

Replacement also works on PS4.

Did the PS3 perhaps get some software patch? oo"

I watch my BDs on PC, There are some player which, for the love of life would not want to play some discs and others do. (And definitely not just because of region issues, because I had troubles with B-Codes, too.) A lot of it appears to have to do with dated player software versions.
