i dont know all i did is disagree that communism should be practised and then it went on to religion and i gave my thoughts on how religions a tool to gather the masses and how religion has made people kill over the thousands of years. thats all

Yeah, but I think it was kinda random how you suddenly threw religion into this debate, and then made sweeping statements without eloquently backing them up at all.

Oh, because other things haven't motivated killings, right? You'll find Gold, Oil and Drugs have been the cause of more killings than Religion! Even back centuries ago; religion could be used as an 'excuse' for killing, when really the leader of this whole ordeal was simply after one of the three items mentioned prior!

maybe so but would you follow some nut job that he clams that a all mighty bean came down to him and told him to tell people that hes a prophet.

if thats the case why doesn't god ( if hes real ) show him selfs in person instead of following someone who might not be telling the truth saying god choose them to lead them.

You realize there are religious persons on this board who wont appreciate you using the term 'bean' when discussing their faith? You are treading on thin ice with comments like that.

Also, how many cases of prophets acting like this have caused thousands of deaths? Let's also remember the era that this all happened - people were far more susceptible to being misled! (Well, that's debatable at times I swear...)

ok thats it i dont care anymore i wash my hands of the hole thing from now on cause someone else is going to get the wrong idea and misunderstand what im saying. plus i thought it was bean, not being so thank you for pointing that out.

Also, I am glad you agree with me on the point of religion. I feel that religion can teach many useful lessons in life once you look past the mythology of it all.

and by the way Shirayuri my family (except for me and for my uncle) are devoted christians so im not talking about every religious person that would be ignorant. no im talking about the * believe in us or die people that takes it to the extreme* i have nothing against no one * AT ALL* now if you excuses me i have a anime to watch tonight its burst angel disc 3 and gunslinger girls s2 d1.

In honesty, saying "My family are christian" to justify acting ignorant is the same as saying "I'm not racist, my best friend is black", following with a racist comment! I'm sorry, but if you're so sure you aren't ignorant of things, then why make such bad generalizations?

I've met a few marxist in my time and i don't see them as very intelligent as i do remember a saying there are those who read Marx and follow it and there are those who understand it and won't follow.

So are you saying your family (except you and your uncle) are part of said religious gathering? Do you think they would kill for their beliefs?

I don't imagine you do think that they would kill simple because the Father at their local church told them to do so. Ergo your point of religion being a control is not a strong point.

People who kill for religious purposes have to have a weak will in the first place, and have to be convinced by people with a strong amount of charisma and/or conviction to convince the initial people to do the deed. The latter (Convincer) often does this not for religious purposes, but for a more human emotion like envy or revenge disguised under a veil of religious purpose.
