UK Anime Distributor Crunchyroll/Funimation/Manga UK Discussion Thread

That's actually hilarious. You'd think these companies would be invested in double checking these things as it saves them money in the long run; they're now going to have to reauthor and redistribute the discs, recall existing stock, as well as having to deal with a bunch of customer queries.

It's not even just anime distributors, even some film distributors seem to be lacking in the quality checking department these days.
It’s hard do to imagine how that even happens

I guess they have to recall any sold now

If this happens often enough, it's just going to eventually kill off physical media altogether, because it will just become too much effort and cost for anime distributors to want to bother with releasing physical media anymore.

I'm having a slight issue with ordering from Crunchyroll US store. I am trying to pay with PayPal using a forwarding US address but when I try to pay with PayPal it won't let me because the address don't match (cos it's my UK home address).

This never happened to me before. Any help?

From my understanding, of using the store once, the delivery address should be the US forwarding address and then paying with PayPal allows you to set the billing address as your home UK address. Is this the way you have it set up?

I hope this isn't a sign that something has changed and PayPal has become unusable on the CR store.

I recently made a purchase on the Crunchyroll store the Friday just gone (I bought the BDs of Space Sheriff Shaider and Kamen Rider V3), and I used PayPal without issues.

I solved the issue now.

For some reason, my PayPal billing address just needs a few changes even though I have been using the same billing addresses unaltered and never have any issues before till now.

The checkout has gone through now.

My Hero Academia Complete Season 5 is now unavailable for purchase on Amazon and HMV. A few other retailers like Zavvi still have it, but I would hope and guess that some retailers, and CR themselves, are aware of the fault with the set and have withdrawn it from sale until hopefully the issue is fixed.

There was an email sent to retailers stating the issue and stock was recalled so they are aware of it and in the process of amending the fault. Some retailers like ourselves, may just be keeping it live to take back orders whilst informing the customer at the time of ordering. It may take a few weeks to become available again.

The Demon Slayer bds for Mugen Train tv, Entertainment District and Swordsmith Village have now been relisted on AoL with a release date of December 30th.

Still a shame we don't get the CE's / LE's but at least we're finally getting the rest of Demon Slayer over here.

I'll still likely invest in the Aniplex releases though for this series.

I hope the first season of Demon Slayer goes on sale during Anime Limited's Xmas sale. I've wanted to get it for a while, but haven't seen a good price for it this year yet.

I made my first Crunchyroll UK Store order because I didn't realise until yesterday that the prices on there were actually pretty solid, beating every single retailer so far. For now I've only gone for three limited edition releases because I've wanted to order them but the prices weren't right, until CR Store offered them each for £36 which is pretty good (for comparison, this is how much it used to cost to order a Funimation LE from United Publications a decade back so when you consider that newer LEs are proper editions it's a good price point, especially when they're relatively new).

I have no clue how long the sale lasts but I am hoping to sort out one more order for regular Blu-rays soon. Just need to shift funds around considering all of the sales are happening now (and I don't expect much during December due to timing and shipping delays).
