UK Anime Distributor Crunchyroll/Funimation/Manga UK Discussion Thread

Looks like Crunchyroll are releasing Sailer Moon here next year.

I was just hoping and asking two days ago if 2025 was finally going to be her year; needless to say I am ecstatic! I’m a little surprised Crunchyroll’s releasing it, I thought All The Anime might pick it up but either way, I’m super happy Sailor Moon is finally coming to the UK.

So now Crunchyroll has Sailor Moon for 2025, and All The Anime are hoping to have the Cardcaptor Sakura movies ready for release next year too. I’d say all we need now is for MVM to release Tokyo Mew Mew New (and/or the original but that’s a real long shot since Japan’s Blu-ray is SD on BD) and then all three of them will have made magical girl anime fans very happy.

MVM already made Magical Girl Fans happy, however in a very special way: Is this a Zombie?

The book is multi-lingual, so the only differents apart from the actual discs are the info sheet on the back and the language on the numbered certificate. So if you already own the Standard Edition, you can get the German or French release and just switch out the Blu-ray discs.

Almost seems worth it if you can pick the discs up in a sale/second-hand. Charging £40 extra for not being able to pick it up an expo is a bit steep. Especially when that French version comes in at like £115 shipped.

I don’t want to destroy your hopes but they will mostly likely be using the Madman discs and won’t go to the extra effort to add some extras but I could be completely wrong.
That's unfortunate, but it can't be helped.

I will keep the new VIZ media Blu-Ray releases for the extras, but I will grab the upcoming UK on release just for easy Region B access as well supporting Sailor Moon redemption arc in the UK 😆🌙

I hope they will do cinema's showings for R, S and SuperS movies.

AOL and ATA have listed Crunchyroll UK's January slate, includes...

  • Banished From the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside (S2)
  • DARLING in the FRANXX
  • Dr. Stone: New World (S3) (Part 2)
  • Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Part 1)
  • The Kingdoms of Ruin
  • Sound! Euphonium (S1)
  • To Your Eternity
  • Villainess Lv. 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord
Definitely plan to pick up Frieren, Sound! Euphonium and To Your Eternity.

Still need to pick up Part 1 of Dr. Stone: New World and I do plan to pick up FRANXX eventually but in no rush, don't even know why this is getting another re-release.

Yeah, Franxx has long been on clearance in the parts. You can pick them up for pretty much half the cost of that complete set.

Iirc I got the complete steelbook on clearance from Zavvi for £10-15 a few years ago.
