UK Anime Distributor Crunchyroll/Funimation/Manga UK Discussion Thread

  • it had the same SRP
  • new release has a Slipcover
Does the SRP make much difference when the current edition is available for Ā£19.99 and the new one is anywhere between Ā£32.99-Ā£38.99 to pre-order? That just seems bizarre. Who's pre-ordering that rather than just buying the one that's available right now for more than a tenner less? I mean if you're tempted by a FuniCrunchyManga slipcase (still featuring horrid blue bar spoiling the cover art in Carolean Jidai III-3) knock yourself out, I can't say I am.

The deluxe Chainsaw Man bluray set is available to order now on the AL store and Amazon with a January release date.

With the current CR sale it's cheaper to buy the French edition and replace the discs.

Ā£154!? What are AL smoking?

EDIT; AoL have it up for Ā£127

Iā€™m still on the fence about the French version. Remind me; itā€™s just the discs and certificate thatā€™s in French right? The info sheet is loose and not printed on the actual packaging?

Most "other companies" releases are priced higher at the AL store than at any competiting stores, and in most cases even after factoring in Anime Unlimited discount. Nothing new...

Went ahead and preordered through Amazon in case I need to cancel since they make it easy. Glad I didn't ever get the standard now with this available.

Also, funny how they have this available on a bunch of notable retailers (AL/Amazon/AoL/Zavvi) but not the UK division of their own store though for some reason?? (not that I'd buy it from there anyways, the prices suck)

Depends. If they do indeed list it at Ā£130 then itā€™ll be the cheapest place if youā€™re a CR subscriber and itā€™ll then come down to Ā£99 if youā€™ve never ordered from them before too.

It's on Amazon.co.uk also, click.

But there are descriptions in the booklet and I think they are in French in the French version. Here they are in English because I saw the unboxing.

That's actually hilarious. You'd think these companies would be invested in double checking these things as it saves them money in the long run; they're now going to have to reauthor and redistribute the discs, recall existing stock, as well as having to deal with a bunch of customer queries.

It's not even just anime distributors, even some film distributors seem to be lacking in the quality checking department these days.
