But seriously, what the smeg is Seras's accent? No, what is it, really? Anyone?
Heh, I can't argue with that. It seems strange to me that New Generation Pictures went to the trouble of using British actors for Anderson, Integra, and Walter, yet cast an American for Seras.

If the voice actors for the central duo had been changed, I may have taken an interest in Ultimate. Such was not the case, alas.

Wikipedia tags Anderson under "fictional Scottish people", but it's wikipedia, so I wouldn't read too much into it.

It's been ages since I've seen it, but my favourite Hellsing dub voice is still the Mi5 agent from the tv series, who I seem to remember having a Dick Van Dyke style 'cockney' accent...

Don't forget the incongruous Lancastrian!

Mari Makinami Illustrious.

1/2 British 1/2 Japanese.

Not sure if she counts though.

And as for UK dub actors doing UK accents for US dub studios, they have to generic the accent so that US audiences can understand it without subtitles.
Conversely when Manga were dubbing in the UK they went for a "mid-Atlantic" accent and hired a lot of American ex-pats.

Do they put subtitles on Torchwood? :D

Pretty sure L is half British according to Ohba in Death Note 13, or third british. There's SOME british in there =P
I think its fair to say Watari is English, don't you? Probably everyone in the Wammy house is.

Well, here is the first clip of England in Hetalia (dubbed)...

Not all that bad considering Funimation's other attempts. Of course, I blame childrens authors for the stereotype in that clip. >.>

=0 he isn't actually that half bad and catches the humour quite well. I might actually try seeing an ep dubbed now.
