They relaesed the 1999 (13 ep) series not the 2002 (26 ep) one.

Nope. 'The Big O' is 13 episodes. It's sequel, 'The Big O II' is another 13. That's all that exists. Research!
my bad sorry
they should of did a 26 episodes boxset of big O

The could have, but I assume they did not because that would require two separate licenses, if Big O sells well though, there is no reason the second season won't get licensed though.
they cant cant call it complete collection cause it doesn't have all episodes on the boxset

Well, it's not half the first season. It's the complete first season. Take it up with every other box set ever if you dislike it.

There's only 1 season though, which has 26 eps, half of it was broadcast 2 years earlier than the other though. Same as with Haruhi, reaired with extra episodes..

The wikipedia page tends to suggest otherwise. I know, unreliable and stuff but it seems convincing. Haruhi was a weird case, but I'd still be hesitant to call it anything other than Haruhi Season Two because of how messy that would get when discussing it.

Haruhi (2009) is how it's normaly adressed or Haruhi (renewal)
"Season 2" is volumes:
4
5.142857
5.285714,
5.428571,
5.571428,
5.714285,
5.857142
5.999999

Big O is similar there's no season 2 in Japan it's just eps 14-26 premiered when it reaired 3 years after 1-13 first broadcast.

ANN
Originally a thirteen-episode series, postive fan response internationally resulted in a second season co-produced by Cartoon Network, Sunrise, and Bandai Visual. The full 26-episode series re-aired from the beginning starting October 1, 2002 in Japan.

Haruhi is so much a different matter it's beyond disingenuous to equate them.

Pre-existing narrative with episodes that slotted into separate parts of the timeline of the already existing anime.

Brand new production, all new episodes are ordered after the initial run, no pre-existing material to suggest that the other episodes were ever even coming.

The full 26-episode series

Does not imply "not two separate 13 episode seasons".

You could watch 192 eps of "24" back to back... it is still 8 seasons.

Sometimes you have to apply common sense rather than reading stuff on the internet and buying into it without question.

Is there any word on a UK release for The Tatami Galaxy?

Due for release in time for MCM Expo October :)! Before that will be also Soranowoto, Sora Kake Girl and others - will do a full list when a friend at Beez sends it over.

Andrew,
Still very definitely a Kaze-based person.

Ah, missed the reply there - thanks for that :)

話数 全26話
Forgot to switch to Japanese. It lists one series with two seaons, 3 years apart.

<object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RFZrzg62Zj0?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RFZrzg62Zj0?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

That fact is Beez split it into the two airings, so like it or not everyone will just have to live with that

Can't you say that for everything on this forum? Or any forum?

Yes if you wanted to be a jerk, but this is something that has happened and will not change and we cannot do jack about it so what's the point? Beez will probably release Big O II if the current box set does well enough and until then eveyone's just going to have to live with the current AL being 13 eps.

But can you trust everything that is written on wiki?
Wiki is only ever really a starting point, albeit an extremely convenient one these days. But when you start at wiki and it's already contradicting your argument directly (especially in cases such as this, where you are largely canvassing for common opinion, rather than scientific fact), you are off to a rather bad start.

Isn't that what we're all saying? The Japanese wiki entry even splits up the ep list into "first season" and "second season".
Arguementis on symantics of series and season.
I'm saying there's two seaons (the Big O eps1-13, and 14-26), others are saying there's two series (the Big O 1-13 and the Big O II 1-13).

They are the same thing depending on origin. Uk generally refers to "seasons" as "series" look at all the Peep Show and Extras and Office DVD, all labelled series 1, 2 etc. Season is the american term. They're synonyms.

Also, you'd be hard pressed to find many anime with more than one season under the same title. For various reasons which I have forgotten, sequels are almost inevitably renamed even if they are direct continuations, Code Geass R2, FMP Second Raid, Black Lagoon Second Barrage, Trigun Maximum,
