So, Funnily enough, they need to be Attacking on Titan More :D
Eren needs to just shouting and screaming and getting saved by Mikasa and do stuff.

I need to catch up on the last 2 episodes, but I can do that when the recap episode is airing this week. Still not enjoying this series as all of the hype it's getting even if it was/still is worth it or not. (IMO)

This is a pretty serious discussion (no, I wasn't trying to find pictures of an ab-off between the two, honest):

The issue Attack on Titan has had is pacing. It still has fantastic moments, and the soundtrack gives it an enormous boost, but the fact that it's altered the series of events in comparison to the manga and played the slow game for the episodes leading up to the recap hurt it. It's a little better in 14-15, however there is still some problems with it. All in all though, if they hadn't altered the structure of the series and kept to a better pacing, things would've been better. I can only imagine its been done on purpose as they thought there wasn't enough content? I can't say.

Is it still good? yeah by all means. It's just not great.

I have read a few weeks ago that there would only have 25 episodes so...

I have no idea how its the manga at the moment cause im not reading it but once the series is over I will start reading.

The pacing has been fine, in my opinion. Actually, it has been better than fine considering that it has been following one battle for so long. It gives the important moments time to breathe and allows the characters and world to develop without having to rely on the main character being in the frame all of the time. Keeping the attention of an audience throughout one battle is a hard thing to do, especially when events are grimdark so often but Attack on Titan has done it. Episode 14 was cathartic after all of the carnage and from 15 onwards it can only get more involving and the world can only get more detailed.

I think you hit on the problem, there, not the solution.

This is an adaptation so I think we have to look at what the anime presents us. For me, focussing on one battle is not a problem. I enjoy the world and the action and I can honestly say that I found every episode has been thrilling and enjoyable and even emotional. Focussing so much on the battle was like being cooped up in the walls and under siege from Titans for so long much like the characters in the anime. It has been stifling and scary (in a good way) but there's finally hope on the horizon and humanity will fight back.

I say it has been stifling but there has been a lot going on with numerous subplots involving other characters in the battles and and now the world is finally getting fleshed out.

Well, for my money not enough happened in about half of the episodes for the first two months of the show's run to class every episode as "thrilling". It has improved as it has gone on, but the pacing chosen for the anime has definitely resulted in some of the emotional impact of certain scenes being decreased (specifically Marco's death, for example).

Just watched ep 1 and 2. It's Pretty good. Though I don't get why the Titans so easily breached the second wall, and then all of a sudden disappeared and stopped attacking? That thing had cannon proof armour and was going through walls like butter and everyone was like "it's all over", and then the next thing it's like "the government decided to fall back within wall Rose", heeello wall Rose was supposed to have already been breached and swarming with titans! What the hell happened to them all?

Still, despite the baffling and incoherent way that invasion played out, I'm quite enjoying the show.

You are slightly confused on the layout of the walls. The wall on the outer side of Zhiganshina is not "the wall", as such, but I can't remember if the anime tells you/shows you a diagram of the walls at that early stage.

Ah nice, you chose a great place to get to, obviously. Try to watch the next handful of episodes in one go too, if you can, it will have a much better flow to it.

Then get caught up on the rest by next weekend, as Dannielle says next week's ep is going to be the start of the real fun!

Also, reading up the thread, I genuinely found my avatar in an unrelated incident to my post below BDT87's! This was not a deliberate choice!
