Animefreak17 And His All-Purpose General Chat Thread

Given the complete absurdity (and seemingly unintentional hilarity) of some of the things you say AF, part of me still struggles to believe you're not a huge troll who came here with the specific intention of messing with our heads. But yeah, it does seem more and more likely that you aren't, that you are honestly into anime and want to make a positive contribution but are just... somewhat odd, even by AUKN standards.

I tell you what though, f*ck knows I'd be more inclined to take you seriously if you used more capitalisation and punctuation. And I'm by no means a grammar Nazi. Hell, I'm a grammar liberal, But even I appreciate capital letters at the beginning of sentences.

@ilmaestro thats what i like about you ilmaestro you tell me what i need to hear

@ayase of course i love anime its one of 3 things i watch
documentaries
comedies * stand up* movies like hot fuzz * ect
anime
iv been watching anime for so long its a everyday thing for me.
i stunk at english i was the lowest in my form in english, maths, ect but i went to college for 7 years to better my self.

Given the fact that I've been on these forums a month more than you and judging by the amount of posts you've made, I'd say the first thing that comes to mind is that you have a lot of time on your hands. It seems to me if you're not watching anime you're writing about it.

Don't feel bad, I've been on here a year longer and he still has way more than I do =P

I think the main difference is that I have work to do. Granted I'm not paid, but it is work.

why do i feel that in getting negatives

I'm not being negative. I'm just saying you seem to spend quite a lot of time here. Perhaps some users are thinking that you may be hogging the forums which could explain possible negative reactions.

2 things
1 its sad but the only ones i have to talk to is you guys i dont have any real friends to talk about anime where i live, and im happy to be here, is that so wrong

2 im going to morrisons to buy some bakewell slices, iron bru and maybe a few other snakes

1) There's not wrong at all, but everyone needs friends IRL. Perhaps there is a comic or anime society near where you live so you can talk with other people as well as on here.

2) I don't think Morrison's sell snakes.

snacks i mean

I hope you meant "snacks". :)

I don't think it's a bad thing to talk a lot, so long as you make sure that you keep it in appropriate threads and try to make it easy for people to read. If people reply, they obviously appreciate talking to you on some level, and if they don't you can learn from it.

Are we taking about the craic indicent?

Well, Ayase mentioned a few posts back that he'd really appreciate it if you could spend a little more time making your posts tidier (e.g. capital letters etc). Nobody minds the odd slip but it is is significantly easier for people to read if things are laid out nicely.

Incidentally, I have to disagree with Ian Wolf about having real life anime fan friends. I do have a couple and I love them dearly, but I've hardly met anyone in my whole life who is really into anime outside of forums etc, and it's never bothered me that much. I do go to fan events, but it's only to buy things rather than socialise with the community.

Actually, I met all of my real life anime-liking friends online in the first place too >_>;

no this is for future references

Well I suppose it is useful to try and explain what you mean, mind you whenever it happens to me I must admit I do get annoyed when I have to go into detail about what I'm talking out.

I think I just got lucky. At my old university (Teesside) we had a great animation and comics society (Anicom it was called). It covered just about anything animated or comic, anime and western. It was a really enjoyable and open-minded group. Plus we in Teesside also have our own anime convention so we do have another chance to talk to anime fans. With Sunnycon coming up in Sunderland that makes it two in my part of the world.

I'm very introverted so even when I'm around other fans in person, I don't tend to get chatting. I never went to university, but I suspect it would have been much the same if I had given my personality. At one convention I went to, someone started talking very pleasantly to me at the bazaar and my now-husband, who was within earshot, was in stitches watching me trying to wriggle out of participating in the conversation by answering all of the guy's points in the most abrupt ways possible.

I just wanted to speak up for less sociable people, hehe.

thing is that -
e.g. lets say there are people *outside the internet* who wants to get to know you and you hit it off.
depending on what sort of people they are, they ask what your in to and what you like doing and you answer them you in to anime -

1 they'll accept that your in to anime and they still want be your friend
2 they'll find you weird and dont want to hang out with you or they'll find you weird but hangs out with you
3 they'll make fun of ya for liking anime * calling ya names like you like cartoon porn.
it just depends on the person so il just take my chances on the internet.
iv never been to a anime convention before believe it or not
@Rui its ok im your friend * if ya want * in fact most of us here are friends *
