Anime Network coming to UK TV! 2hr block starts in June!

Seen 2 of the 4, Evangelion I dont plan on seeing ever again. Elfen Lied I could defantly watch again, Nyu!, Guyver looks a cool series the other I am not sure about.

But good news overall.

I'll proabably be watching most of that.
Seen E.L. twice already, but if it's in a block, I dont mind re-watching it again. :p (Especially if episode 10.5/14 is released too, but maybe not).
I'll definately re-watch NGE, as I haven't seen the end of it since early High School.
I've yet to see Guyver or the dub of C.R.S. This should be a core reason for me to have nothing to do on Sunday nights! :D

Sweet Coyote Ragtime Show - I really wanna see this anime, almost started buying the dvd's ut if its gonna be on tv I am happy

Sorry if I seem negative but in this day and age where we can watch exactly what we want, when we want for very little money, I just can't see the upside of a 2 hour slot once a week on a channel that will probably be low quality (bitrate) and wonder what on earth 'anamorphic widescreen' means what about showing stuff in such a format

We can, its called the internet.

Wow.
How wonderful to hear this news!.. and I actually have this channel! From the looks of it, it shows random amateur films. It actually has a nice 'feel' about the channel, nice and breezy (no pun intended)... it's like soft relaxing o_o..

So yeah, go ADV!

You seem to think broadcasters still live in the 80's. That couldn't be farther from the truth.
Now whats needed is ads on the terestrials to pimp it. Lets hope they don't go picking a fight with Sky, like the other channel, then end up in oblivion as well.

It means that even if it's a widescreen program it will fit to your screen even if you have a normal TV. Something like that anyway.

Sounds pretty good to me. Don't have Sky but yeah.

hehe did everyone take stupid pills this morning?

I'm suggesting the channel will NOT show any of the anime in anamorphic widescreen

Also we don't really get HD quality Fansubs and things.

I'd have to disagree with you there.

And just a note, one of Propeller's sponsors is Sony by the looks of it.. not sure if that means anything, other than Sony might have some involvement in it.. maybe this is a good sign about Animax? :x

or in other words has a tiny budget, so can't buy the rights to anything else and is a cheap channel to run

Sounds like a great choice!

Rapture got some good exposure to the UK with anime. That was a small channel. Sure it died out but we got some good series out of it while it lasted.

The Sky box selects that, not the broadcaster They just put it out in whatever format they want, excluding 405 of course.
