Anime Limited licenses GUNDAM RECONGUISTA IN G

How strange. I can still download episode five from my online account (which I'm doing now before I forget!). Hopefully the series page will return soon...

If they're abandoning Vimeo (I believe it was mentioned at the start as more of a short term solution), hopefully those of us who already paid for the full series will be covered as such on the new format. AL are known for excellent customer service, but it is a bit worrying to see the page seemingly vanish like that.

I'm happy to wait for the physical release at this point - looking forward to seeing what emerges on that front anyway.

I hope the problem is sorted in time for the next episode as I'm going on a trip and could use the downloadable entertainment :D

??? Seems to still be there for me. http://www.vimeo.com/ondemand/gundam

Whew! It vanished for a few hours overnight but it seems fine now. Thanks :D

(Is anyone else irrationally happy to see people comenting on the page and showing that there's a paying audience here for Gundam titles?)

Talk of Gundam Wing here kind of confuse me, though. I know very few fans of the franchise who rate it. Its not despised... just not especially liked, either. But what do I know? Maybe it depends who you talk to?

I think it depends. Many will say it was their first taste of Gundam - as it was one of the first that properly made it over to the west. In my opinion, it's a very 'pure' take on the format - without as much of the added romantic gloss and borderline harem stuff that started to creep into the likes of SEED.

Personally, I disagree with thiss pretty strongly. As a gateway to the wider franchise, I can see Wing being special to some folks... but it's a pretty unusual show when viewed in context of all the other Gundam out there. It amps up some aspects that are certainly there in other shows, but fixates on stuff like flip-flopping of allegiances to a disproportionate degree.

I'd argue that the trappings of SEED are much closer to what Gundam is all about, in essence - there are some very direct parallels to story elements of the original show and the whole Universal Century timeline.

BUT... that's all off topic. More Gundam, and Gundam that can be sold to willing punters, is always good in my book.

Anyone else having issues with today's episode? I received an email telling me "Gundam Reconguista In G has been unpublished from Vimeo On Demand, but you can still watch it by logging into your account and going to My Library.". The new episode is up but I can't seem to download it. Technical hiccup? :)

Getting real tired of this s'.

Especially as I have thrown the cash down for this so, yeah, knock it the hell off.

I paid for a colossal donut, and I'm gonna get a colossal donut!

Looking at the timestamp (it said something like 'Posted 5 hours ago' at the time the episode was due) perhaps a botched attempt to have the episodes on the server and timed to become available at 9pm?

Anime Limited have commented about this on Facebook. Apparently the videos keep getting flagged for copyright violations with regards to the OP audio and they are having to go through the process of getting them cleared again every week. They are trying to get this cleared up with Vimeo as it shouldn't be happening. Stupid automated copyright protection at work

After getting the video is unpublished notification Thursday the page has been pulled again, can't even access it from My Library this time either. Pity we are having these problems with Reconguista, I am sure Anime Limited will be having second thoughts about putting up any more of their DTO titles on Vimeo.

I can access the downloads (through to episode 10) in my library, thankfully, though I've been so snowed under with work recently I'm miles behind. It's a shame that Vimeo is sucking so much at keeping the page online since I like the other aspects of their service.

I can't access it in my library. It has Reconguista in it, but only an image in my purchases, when I click it I don't get the javascript pop up with the download links.

Any word on where this week's episode is? Is it's absence a sinister plan?

Just wanted to say it was nice to see this week's episode go up on Christmas day. Made for a nice Gundam Christmas present :)

I was initially very iffy on Reco but at the halfway point it's become something I look forward to each week (was honestly expecting Try to be that). It's great that the show is available to us in the UK and I'd urge people who haven't watched to try it. It has this welcome retro flavour to it.

Am I being stupid or has the latest episode been set as streaming only? I download the episodes because I find the online Vimeo player to be a mess.
