UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Looks like the good work on the social media side has already started, we've actually got a new newswire for the first time in a year.

They're getting the Bleach sets out at a steady pace. The first set out came out the beginning of November last year and by March 2025 we'll be almost a third of the way through the series.

I hope there's something about Blood War part 2 soon as well.

Additionally, that's the Slam Dunk movie all but confirmed, which plenty have been waiting on for a while. I'm glad I didn't end up importing it.

Can't say I'm a fan of the square-sized CE for Blue Giant. Seems like a fun gimmick until you think about it for two seconds and realize this is a physical item they're making that people have to store with their other sets. They mention it's the same height as their typical CEs, but it being wider means that you can't store it the same way as their typical CEs...

Maybe if you're a more casual collector and thus can afford to be more inefficient with your space usage it won't matter too much, but as someone with over 1,000 blu-rays...

Hello! Now that the team are back from the festive break I will be doing my best to increase communication. I'll be jumping on here and the discord too so don't hesitate to reach out with questions :)

As for my favourite childhood anime - I was lured into anime by magical girls so I'll have to go with Tokyo Mew Mew! 🤩
You're doing great work! Thank you very much!

Thousand Year Blood-War and Slam Dunk news should be reeeeeeeally soon!

Glad to finally see Blue Giant but like @Joe has mentioned, I'm not a fan of the awkward sized set, which is why I never go for the Ultimate Edition's so I think I'll stick with the standard edition this time around despite loving the movie.

It's great to see the Newswire back. It feels like more of an event when several announcements are packaged together this way. While I'm subscribed to the AL newsletter, I quite often tune it out because too much of it is about other companies' products now, and its near-daily schedule is too frequent for email. I've been getting most of my AL news via this thread for the last year.

No mention of naruto in the Newswire which dates titles into march, i assume CE 2 is not coming until after then? When these sets were originally announced, they were said to be every couple of months.

Contemplating selling CE 1 and just importing the USA release

As I've said to others online, I want to make sure this is a regular feature once again, and I've given folks my absolute permission to be bullied about it if it falls off the radar again! 😉

Honestly, we're pushing to have a newswire for February in full sooner rather than later, so it really shouldn't be too long until the next one.

The Newswire only covers up to the start of Februrary - we'll be revealing our full February line-up as soon as we can. We have designs ready to go for the entire series, so it's really just working through disc authoring that's the only hold-up, and that's progressing apace currently.

Here's a question for @Hanners @teetoni and @anime_andrew Who decides on which cinemas show your films? Is it you, the cinema chain or individual cinema managers? We haven't had an anime film in Southampton in ages it feels yet Showcase ARE showing The Colors Within at Reading, but not here and Vue ARE showing it in Portsmouth, but not Eastleigh (the town next to Southampton), which I guess points mostly towards option 3. I guess both you and the cinema chain would want it in as many places as possible!

I'm not them but I've seen an answer on this before.
What seems to happen is the cinemas decide where it screens and how many screens they will have for it. So they might only decide on 10 screens and then distribute them on their own discretion. So it isn't Anime Limited's choice at all.
