UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

A few things that caught my eye from the Ask Andrew stream:
  • More Gundam in 2025's roadmap, including potential for 4K. Something happened for the 2024 schedule hence the slower turnout.
I mean, we've had this before. They promised a lot of Gundam a few years back, it didn’t happen and we were later told plans had to change.

I'm not saying this isn't true or that it's Anime Limited's fault, but how many more times will it happen? Given next year will be a decade of them handling things here, I hope we're not facing something like the 45th anniversary in 2019 where they just fastracked everything with previous BBFC rating onto Blu-ray.

(And yes, I understand all those titles were new to certain people.)

And if we're getting more of it in 4K, will they at least make sure booklets don't go to print with massive errors?

I'd be curious how AL would deal with the Shippuden movies (if they were to get them); whether they would release them in groups maybe or a complete set.

I paid £37 for the complete Shippuden movie set (7 films, including Boruto the movie) from Australia, so not sure if I'll have the appetite to buy them again for jacked up prices.

Watching the VOD. Fair play to Andrew for acknowledging fan frustration on Gundam.

As for dropping a colony on them...well, one canonically hit Dublin with minimum damage. Though going full brunt with one on Glasgow might be doing Scotland a favour...

(I have direct Glaswegian heritage, I can say that!)

time to post this again (although it's more of an accurate depiction of the annual rainfall!)

A few things that caught my eye from the Ask Andrew stream:
  • Andrew confirms there are reasons why Disney+ exclusive anime titles have yet to be released for home video outside Japan, but for NDA reasons he can't delve into them. A little bit more complicated than other platforms. He's a fan of Heavenly Delusion and Summertime Rendering.
Need more context on this, doesn't it imply HE or at least Anime Limited has signed an NDA with Disney otherwise why would he be bound by it?

Some things are just professional courtesy. It's why I keep complaining about the perceived lack of reaction to flaws in the Gundam releases. Because annoying as they are, it's entirely possible saying the slightest thing about it could close professional doors for AL. Japanese companies in particular are sticklers for this.

There are not many entities that could survive calling out Disney.

My delusional hope and wish is that AL will somehow be able to give Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury a Collector's Edition blu-ray release. Btw, did they address the situation with Kakegurui Season 2? I sent them an ask about it. They didn't answer to my ask about Kakegurui Season 2 despite it being one of the first asks they received via Twitter.
