UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Yeah - always worth remembering that Sunrise are bigger than Gundam. They produced some great shows besides. Planetes, Argentosoma, The Big O, Freedom GaoGaiGar... I could go on.

This. This this this.

I'd really like to see Ideon get licensed if possible, since that show was highly influential on Evangelion, especcally the ending, Be Invoked, is basically an 80s End of Eva, so it would be nice to see it released on blu ray.

I'd like to see Arion and Venus Wars given blu rays by Anime Limited, and also Utena and Rose of Versailles.

Yeah, Planetes definitely needs a release :)
The French release by Beez does include English audio and subs though
Of course it does. The same discs were used for the UK release, just like all other licences that Beez had for both countries. There were some French only releases too of stuff that was unlicenced here like City Hunter though.

I looked at that not too long ago - knowing that there's a Japanese BD though, I'm holding out for someone picking it up.

I'm sure Andrew's made positive noises about the show in the past so fingers crossed, at some point.....:D

DVD only is kind of a bummer.

I watched the Anime Limited Panel that Emo185 put up on YouTube.

Around 13:45, they said they're aware of the Blu-ray version but wanted to get the show out there for fans as soon as possible. I guess you can't rule out a possible Blu-ray release just yet.

I'm very excited about the Mobile Suit Gundam release, just a couple of questions:

1. Can you confirm if your release, unlike the US release, will include Episode 15 'Cucuruz Doan's Island'?

2. Will there be any extras? I know that there was a 30th anniversary documentary release in Japan. 'The Origin of G' would be of particular relevance.
I could be wrong, but I think they're working with Rightstuf on the release, so I assume whatever TRSI has said will apply.

Finally getting round to watching Kill la Kill, don't know if anyone else has noticed the error with part one. On the actually disc it says EPs 1-5 on disc one but on the on screen menu it only has EPs 1-4 while disc two says EPs 6-9 while the on screen menu says EPs 5-9, had me panic a little that I was missing a episode. Glad that m not but is confusing a little.

From the video of the panel, it sounded like they were putting together their release independently but I'm not entirely sure. Hopefully a compromise can be reached either way - even if it's included as a bonus feature or hidden easter egg and removed from the episode chronology.

Never ever seen or have any experience of the gundam series, so would I be able to watch MSG and not get lost (like with how mvm's release of patlabour was essentially pointless as it was a sequel to a series that wasn't released in the UK, so couldn't be understood on it's own)

MSG is the first in the series...
