UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Is Ajin likely to end up with a large number of episodes? I really hate series that go on for too long & I've read there'll be a season 3 which puts me off a little. I don't mind streaming them but buying a series with 50+ episodes is a real rarity for me because rewatching takes up so much time!

That's a good point. The manga is on-going and I believe the anime may have gone into anime original territory. The studio will be focusing on BLAME 2, Godzilla Trilogy, and Knights of Sidonia Season 3 so I don't think we'll see any more Ajin for a while if they planned to.

Well this sucks. The Little Witch Academia poster I got signed for a friend? US postal service tried delivering it once and when she went to collect they've now told her they've lost it.

Great
*slow handclap*

God, please don't even mention postal services to me right now. My Your Name deluxe edition arrived damaged. Look at what Royal Mail did to the box:

My condolences.
I'm getting Vietnam style flashbacks just looking at that damaged box...

Thanks, dude. Really appreciate that!

Flashbacks of what, though? Sounds bad.
Maybe I'm just jokingly exaggerating but I've received a few damaged boxes in the past, most of which were from Amazon.com:rolleyes: (my poor Danmachi set:() and your situation reminded me of those occurrences :p

This is giving me flashbacks of when I ordered a bowl from amazon - they shipped it in a comically large box (about 20 times the size that it needed to be) and only protected it with two small sheets of tissue paper...

Did you get your Danmachi replaced? (Fingers crossed for my Your Name replacement...)

Sounds about right. Danmachi had two airbags that were situated to the left of the set. They failed protect the other corners which were smushed.

Amazon.com refunded me so it's not all bad, but I'm wary of ordering from them again unless another pricing glitch occurs. Amazon.co.uk are usually fine at least, and refund without much hassle. Just takes a bit of talking ;)

Hope your Your Name set gets replaced alright!

I personally thought the Your Name box was kind of comically large as well — and the sides of the artbox were only protected by the bubble wrap wound around. @NormanicGrav posted a pic of his packaging, which included some scrunchy paper. Mine had the airbags @HWR mentions above and underneath, but the problem is that the cardboard box is little wider than the artbox itself, allowing no side protection. Which probably wouldn't have been a problem if Royal Mail hadn't been playing rugby with it.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Luckily my posties aren't aspiring rugby players. Did you order from Zavvi or AL directly out of interest?

They did the same with my Akira 35th Anniversary manga set, it had nearly escaped the box by the time I received it. Big box + heavy, much smaller contents + no padding = disaster.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received a shipping notification for Your Name yesterday. I preordered two other anime in the same order and I only paid once for international shipping. :)

You know, I give a lot of flack to the Portuguese mail office, but I don't recall ever getting a package damaged, which, considering I order about 99% of my stuff from abroad, is quite a feat. The one time I remember having something damaged it wasn't really in the trip here, it was when it was already at my house; when the packages don't fit the mailbox, sometimes the mailmen just threw the packages (when they didn't have fragile warnings, of course) to a little "house" on my yard where I have a barbecue set up. This one time, the package either fell to the ground or wasn't quite in the house, and my dog managed to get to it. When I went to see if I had mail, I was greeted by little blue pieces of plastic all over the yard, with bitten and scratched blu-ray discs near the gate, and pieces of paper spread out as well :(
