UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

No harm in asking! Here's the updates we have right now:
AP
Hi, I asked a question on a previous page, and never really got a reply. If that's because you don't have an answer or don't want to answer is fine, but I thought that I'd ask again just in case, and the question itself is in regards to the release Short Peace and how that's going along. I think it had a limited theatrical run recently too, with The Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme.

A bit sneaky, but also while I'm here I'm interested in regards to the possibility of a Robot Carnival release along with other shorts? I ask since I remember you teasing a release of shorts or something along that nature when the animatorexpo stuff started coming out. Is something only being available on DVD a deterrence? Thanks!

Extra content, DVD only, is fine with me. Obviously it's always nice to have these things in HD too, but I'm not overly precious about it. Can certainly live with it, and if it's a case of the extras being DVD only or us not getting the extras at all, then it's a no-brainer.

Liking the sound of the 009 CE so that's another one to add to the list!

Re Baccano - looks like it's just Amazon's stock placeholder date if they're still nailing down the final date and it's come within a certain amount of time of the current release estimate. Another one I'm really looking forward to!

Untrue! Although we are held up as bizarrely not yet had the final contract (Likely a mix up as I've had others since) - which means we have packaging assets but no video yet >_>. Not a chosen delay on our part and should move quickly after that's sorted!

AP
Going on that paragraph, would it be safe to assume that Baccano won't be out on the 8th June?

Got a mail from Amazon saying my Baccano pre-order won't be arriving until early January, and on their page it's now scheduled for December 28th.

The "untrue" line from Andrew was in response to Jon O Fun who mentioned Amazons new date.

Correct there - I'm trying to minimise delays though as packaging is almost ready to go really so it's a bit frustrating honestly...

OK cheers. Seen as the packaging is nearly ready, any chance we might get a sneak peak at it soon?

I'd love a Robot Carnival Blu-Ray release. It's a really gorgeously animated film.

To be fair - just been busy and missed it ^^;;! Short Peace is moving - we're just trying to secure any meaningful extras before advancing it so watch this space. Momo is further ahead though all in all.

Re Robot Carnival - I'd rather wait for BD on something like that and it's all a tad complex really for a few reasons but we'll see where it goes :). AnimatorExpo remains more likely given some time ^^.

While it's tangential to qaiz's query, I would encourage you to consider using Kickstarter in the future to fund restorations where possible and necessary. I suppose the licensors might not want to ship out original film materials, but there's always a chance (or fund them to do it themselves?). Cinelicious have got the original negative of Belladonna of Sadness to restore (2K downscales of 4K scan can be seen here) which is very exciting. I hope it bodes well for the future.

- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya -> Moving on for a Q3 release :)! More details in good course

Hope you can get the specials bundled with the all the JP BD/DVD volumes, because it seems that Sentai didn't get them.

I was wondering almost if the delay on Prisma Illya meant it'd be a bundled edition with the second season, but maybe it's too early for that?

Don't worry about it! I'm glad you eventually got around to it :) I'm guessing Short Peace will also be getting the CE treatment? When you first announced that you acquired the short, I envisioned that it's be similar the your Garden of Words release, or like the US release:

The short has loads of awesome artwork so hopefully you make the most of it. I'm interested in seeing how you go about it. Its been available in the US for a few months now, at a cheap price no less. I love shorts, more so than most anime series and movies, but I'm not sure how receptive most people will be to it. Look forward to seeing how it turns out in any case. I love me some Otomo goodness.

Is a BD for Robot Carnival even possible? It looks stunning, of one my favorite animated films of all time (Star Light Angel <3) but I doubt a BD will ever be available, and a DVD would suit me fine!

Yes! I'm more excited for Belladonna of Sadness than anything else that has been released for a very very long time. The restoration looks absolutely awe inspiring, and I can't wait to get it. They're actually looking into getting a hold and releasing the other Eiichi Yamamoto films but only if this does well, which makes sense. In any case I'm there day one, and I bloody hope everybody else who loves film and good looking Blu-ray's gets this when it comes out. Looks like a visual showpiece that's for sure. I'd love for the rest of the Animerama Trilogy to be released.

I definitely feel like something special needs to be done for this release, it's been on the books for way too long and out in the US for ages. I might even be approaching the point where I'll not even bother to buy it because my interest peaked and then has subsided.

Latest newswire is up guys! For those interested you can read it here: http://blog.alltheanime.com/newswire-18-5th-may-2015/

Despite it saying Kill la Kill Volume 3 comes out on the 1st, the date listed on your store is the 8th. Which is correct?

http://www.alltheanime.com/collections/ ... on-blu-ray

We're still aiming for the 1st June. (Have updating the listings.)

Great, thanks for the response.
