UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Hey all! Just wanted to quickly pop-in to let you know about something I've added to the AllTheAnime.com web shop today.

I know a lot of you like to keep up-to-date on when something may be going out of print and such - after a couple of occasions where people were caught off guard by that happening. So today I've added a new section to our web shop - *Titles Nearly Out-of-Print - when they're gone, they're gone
(This section is also visible once you get through the main store front page at our web shop.)

Every title listed in there (and that gets added to that section accordingly) means it's nearly out-of-print. I'm aiming to updated this once a week (or sooner as needed).

As of today (6th July 2017), based on a meeting we just had here's what's currently nearly out-of-print:
  • Empire of Corpses Ltd Ed Steelbox
  • Psycho-Pass The Movie Ltd Ed
  • HAL Ltd Ed
  • Gundam Reconguista in G Ltd Ed Blu-ray

I can tell you guys now there definitely will be standard edition Blu-rays of all of these coming down the line/soon (excluding HAL, which already has one). The Psycho-Pass Movie standard edition Blu-ray is out at the end of the month.

There won't be exact numbers posted in this new section - it would involve a heck lot of additional admin on my part on a daily basis - but just know it it's added to this section it means there genuinely aren't many left.

Hopefully this will be a way for everyone to be able to keep updated on this. Hope this helps :)

It's definitely a work in progress and there might be scope to refine a bit more down the line, but if you have any thoughts or suggestions on this section as a concept and whatnot let me know and I'll see if something may be possible.

Out of curiosity, what's the SRP of the A Silent Voice CE and is the current one a placeholder? Like why is it over £40 on Amazon right now? Seems pretty steep for a movie....

The SRP is £49.99 according to the Anime Limited Store. As to the reason why? We don't know the contents! :p The standard Blu-ray (SRP £19.99) is an option for those who just want the movie on BD.

Just wondering if this will eventually be true of your entire catalog? I.e. A Letter to Momo, The Case of Hana & Alice etc?

Oh no I want the CE, I'm just curious as to why it's currently listed for double the price of Your Name and is far more than any other movie CE I have bought from them. As you say we don't know what's included, but I was just wondering if that was the actual price or if it was a placeholder given to Amazon just to get the pre-orders available.

Id expect the majority of CE will sell out eventually, some may take a few years (like HAL) but as long as people are kept up to date when stock is running low its all good.

I do recall they're trying to do something special with it but they don't have approval yet so instead of raising the SRP after they get approval they set the initial SRP that high.

We don't exactly know the contents of the Your Name LE either, yet that's only £19.99 on Amazon (or £34.99 on AL's store).

Yeah Vue at Portsmouth is far too expensive...

But handy for the ferry though.

Vue Eastleigh is £11.99 standard and £14.49 for VIP. It used to be the cinema I used as it was nicer than the ones in Southampton, but now that Showcase de Lux has opened there's no going back. All seats are leather and are reclining, and standard seats are only £10.95!

Genocidal Organ was going be on next Wednesday, but has moved to the following Monday which is handy as it's my week off and it means that I can use my Insider card for a £6.50 ticket rather than badger people to come with me to use my Meerkat Movies code.

I have to get the ferry over from Gosport to Portsmouth.

There are another 2 cinemas near...cheapest is Reel in Fareham but unfortunately the film is only showing at Vue. The nearest cinema for all the other films that have been shown is Southampton and that's too far and much to go see a film.

Has anyone else found a problem with their Tokyo Marble Chocolate booklet? Pages 20–30 of my copy are a spectacular mess, all cut and crumpled with blurred text.

Do you have some time frames where this happens ? Could check if the JP release is acting in the same way.
Just going back to this flashing subtitles thing on Anthem of the Heart, did you check this out? Curious if the Japanese set is the same as I just watched the UK release and my god those subtitles were annoying. I loved the movie though so would be willing to import if it's not got this issue.

Thanks for triggering this old man's memories :)

Oh yeah i sure did but for the moment only for the UK release. I know my OPPO BD player has troubles with some titles with rapid disappearing subtitles. But flashing subtitles was something new.

Wanted to re-watch Anthem last evening but after five minutes i stopped as it was annoying. For instance there is some explanatory text for the room prices in the castle, and that was one subtitle which was flashing. Also for short sentences the subtitles disappeared quickly. To make sure if it's my BD player or not, i ripped the BD and put it on my NAS but haven't been able to check it.

Will try this evening together with the JP release.
