UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I love AL's approach to Gundam. Amaray case + sturdy box is really nice and they've all been relatively affordable so far.

I ordered the early bird deal (I've never done that before)...I'm very excited for this!

I would guess AL will release Gundam Wing, it's guaranteed £££££ and will bring attention to their other releases from less hardcore anime fans who watched Gundam Wing 'back in the day'.

I digress!! Think you could leave space in the artbox for the inevitable release of Endless Waltz!? Thanks :D

Week away from pay day but since it's only 500 units I pre ordered. Had a voucher from the last Zeta delay so total was £19.99.

I'll be putting in a pre-order for the movies later today. I would've waited until Thursday when I next get paid, but only 500 has me paranoid that I might miss out on an original series box AGAIN. :)

Still no email for me, looks like my replacement will once again be in a later wave.

Still no response to my email about a replacement for Zeta Gundam part 1 either.

FMP and Escaflowne replacement disc been shipped

Edit -

I've ordered the Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy. This will be my first dip into the Gundam universe, and hopefully if I like it then I can grab Gundam Zeta

So apparently hell froze over and Kaze is releasing Robotech on Blu-ray with Japanese/French audio and French subs. I would love to see AL do an Ultimate Edition of Macross without the Robotech junk, but that's wishful thinking.

Robotech's never been the problem, HG will licence it out to anyone with the $$$.

Likely an upscale though as I doubt that HG ever had the original elements to the three series.

HG only have claim over the original series, and even that is tenuous, however, they'll try it on with anything with Macross in the title. BV should put them in their place, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

Are the Gundam compilation movies worth watching if you've already seen the TV series?

Yep, mainly because they retcon a few things and later canon of shows give them preference. A lot of the enemy of the week and toyetic stuff gets changed. Case in point, when Amuro attacks a Zeon mine in the show he has to fight M'Quve and Kycillia in the Adzam. That fight is removed in the movies to put the focus on the fact Amuro just attacked a relatively pointless enemy base by mistake.
