I quite like AL's CEs because they fit very well with Japanese boxes. For longer-running series I guess they could house all the parts in a single box, but of course this requires a commitment to release everything in a reasonable timeframe.
From the trailer it seems that the movie is a loose adaptation of the climactic arc of the manga. In that case I would recommend that you are familiar with the character backstories and not just the characters themselves, but I think watching episodes 4 and 5 or reading a couple of paragraphs...
Personally I'm quite surprised by the Build Fighters announcement, it's actually one of my favorite Gundam shows but I had never even considered the possibility of AL releasing it, I was expecting G Gundam or 08th MS Team.
Gunbuster is an absolute instabuy for me, I actually preordered the...
It's a shame because shortly after the 40th AL seemed to finally pick up some pace and started putting out releases at a rate in which a mostly complete collection of UC and AUs seemed feasible within a few more years.
Nowadays I just want to know which Nozomi releases I should import.
I'm going to join the previous replies in recommending you don't skip ZZ. It's not strictly necessary for CCA but it's a good continuation to Zeta and even the lighthearted bits work quite well, it's definitely one of my favourite Gundam shows.
Regarding the Aria the Avvenire situation, it's possible that the licensing terms have changed since the Rightstuf release. Back then it made sense to bundle Avvenire with Origination, but it has now become the first installment of the Avvenire/Crepuscolo/Benedizione trilogy. It's a shame that...
My opinion on the issue is that people keep asking about Hibike! Season 2 and March comes in like a Lion Season 2 all the time, to a lesser extent than series such as Amanchu! Advance. As someone who would love for all three to be released, I wonder how difficult it would be for them to do all...
With regards to the pacing of Gundam releases, I think that they had struck a nice pace a couple of years ago, it wasn't super fast but there was always another release around the corner and at that pace it seemed that they could realistically get through the whole series in a few more years. It...
If they have to copy the contents of available Japanese releases, it is possible that we might see a Nisemonogatari + Nekomonogatari Black boxset after the Bakemonogatari rerelease.
I feel we got a reasonably steady stream of releases between 2019 and 2021 (even though most were the low-hanging BBFC'd stuff), but it's dried up in the last few months and there are no new releases in sight. I find this a bit strange though because most of the limited boxsets do sell out...
I was wondering if there's a big reason (other than BBFC fees) why they haven't released 08th MS Team yet. Of the series which haven't been classified before it's probably the most popular, and it's rather short.
I still have the old one because I didn't trust Funi not to go to a standard release directly and I don't even know if I will even try to get any kind of replacement
Meanwhile, Spanish ratings are a tiny print in the back. Personally I think something like the French system (clearly visible symbol on the back) is enough, I think nobody picks up something up to read the synopsis in the back because it has the rating they like lol
I went to see F/sn Heaven's Feel III in the cinema in Paris and I must say the audience reaction was the best part, even though it's a pretty good movie imho
I mean we're all assuming they're being protective of their licence for the last movie but their release of that is long out of print, we've reached a point where we just assume nonsensical reasoning because there is not a single reasonable explanation in sight lol
I have already placed my order to my parent's house in Spain, hope it doesn't get cancelled. The AL storefront blocks orders to certain countries automatically (France, for example), so I'm inclined to think they would have blocked them for any country which is not the UK or Ireland, especially...
Personally I don't mind the packaging, but it is clear there are many people out there who do, and in my experience cardboard sleeves tend to fall apart after a few years if you get the discs out regularly. I guess I'll check the build quality when my set finally arrives.
I honestly don't...
I think people might have been more understanding of this issue if they had chosen the proper masters and decided on better packaging in the first place. If it's clear you don't care from the very beginning it is only natural for people to assume negligence when problems arise.
