    Lucky Star

I love it! I've seen the first two episodes, and will be blogging the third either tomorrow or the day after. As has been said, it does share an awful lot with Azumanga, but the humour is more subtle. I think that the characters are fantastic, though, and the OP alone is enough to keep me...

New US DVD anime licenses at Anime Boston

Paul, it's very unfair to call Zero no Tsukaima fan-service driven! Anime that deserves that is something like Mahoromatic, but the amount in Tsukaima is probably more comparable to Chobits. I agree Tsukaima is very light-hearted and does play alot on the "moe" factor of its characters, but...

    Love Hina

I can certainly reccomend it. You will enjoy it, if only you don't take it too seriously. Someone else in this thread (I think Paul) called it enjoyable "fluff" - I wholeheartedly agree.

    Stratos 4 Boxset

I've seen the R1 thinpack around Amazon.co.uk for £21, which is pretty good in my opinion. Is it a good series though? I rented the first DVD at one point just to try it out and although I was entertained, it wasn't exactly all that impressive. Also, the dub is beyond words (bad).

Anyone going to May London Expo?

I went to the October Expo (It -was- in October, right?) with a few friends and we all really enjoyed it, so hopefully I'll get a couple of friends to come with me to this one. Likely, we'll do the Saturday. Just out of interest, how does the May expo differ from the October one? Also, I...

    Azumanga daioh

It doesn't matter if you know little about Japanese culture when you watch Azumanga. Funnily enough, Azumanga can often end up an education in the subject - I came away knowing alot more than I did when I started! If you get the R2 releases (I can't speak for the R1s) ADV has packaged little...

    Never Watched EVA

But yeah, back to the original thread  . DVD rental sites are a good option, Amazon and Tesco do fairly well-priced ones, and I've had first-hand experience with Amazon. They didn't fail to deliver. Of course then there's the evil sorta-rhymes-with-bathtub method...

    Azumanga daioh

You either love it or hate. I'm a big Azumanga fan, but as Maxon said, it's very much a slice-of-life school-yard chatter thing. I'd urge you to give it a try, simply because I'm such a big fan, but maybe buy just the first volume before splurging out on all the rest.

    Dead....all gone.....forever.......

Sorry to hear that NinjaBoy, my collection isn't that huge, but the amount of school work and website development stuff I have on there is utterly sacred. I wouldn't wish this to happen on my worst enemy.
