    Learning Japanese

I've always thought it was "eigo ga hanashimasu ka?". In a sentence where the subject of the sentence is undefined it would be "Anata wa eigo ga hanashimasu ka?". "And" is "to". I've never seen X personally...

Light Novels - Can someone explain this to me

So how are you reading them? In their native Japanese, or can you buy translated versions? Also, does anyone know if such a thing as hiragana-only (e.g. all kanji written out as, or annotated with hiragana) manga or light-novels available?

    Learning Japanese

I've been slowly teaching myself for around a year now, and I have lessons every fortnight at my school, which help me along. The great thing about Japanese is how logically structured it is. If you're into why language works, and not just how, like me, then you'll get along swell with...

    Browser/OS reading Japanese

http://files.adamcube.co.uk/Programs/ie_ja.zip Unzip, install and reboot. Hope it helps ^^. Also, the title and installation program is misleading. Sometimes Microsoft dub it an IE add-on, and other times an Office plugin. For me, however, it always adds Japanese script reading support for...

Anyone going to May London Expo?

Sounds good. I've not yet seen Kino's Journey (I think that's what you're referring to at least), but I looked up a picture and... the waterpistols are certainly a good idea! I'll be sure to look out for the badge; this year I'll actually remember to bring my glasses with me - which should...

    curiosity killed the cat

I find that I get quite depressed after watching pretty much any anime series all the way through, just at the notion that it's over. Not to say I'd ever kill myself over it, but there are a few hours where I just really don't feel like speaking to anyone.

Reaching for the fast forward button

I don't skip anything. I know it might be boring, but I feel that the animators deserve for their shows to be watched in entirety, no sliced up. To be honest, part of what makes a good show is that it's always interesting and entertaining. If it fails at that, I probably wouldn't watch it anyway.

    Attempted rape in anime

Haha - GAINAX's He Is My Master no doubt! It's not a bad anime, and certianly doesn't include anything even close to rape. It's just very, very light-hearted and typically filled to the brim with fanservice (maids, maids, maids) as per the norm from GAINAX.

    Hell Yes! Yotsuba is back!

Hurray! But it's still a whole half a year (more or less) just to get two more volumes. Heck, I could translate it faster, and I don't read kanji... ...yet.

    Lucky Star

I guess this is a real extreme of the slice-of-life genre. The humour is so subtle in a take-it-or-leave-it kind of way that I guess it will fly straight over the heads of people expecting anything even remotely in-depth.
