I can almost visualise that email-person's eyes lighting up, possibly teary-eyed: the only person not complaining/wanting to cancel. 'Twas a nice gesture. Personally, I opted donate £5 per month dd to my local hospice after someone caught me at the door unawares, but that works too. Treat others as you would be treated yourself is my motto.![]()
I did actually start some monthly donations to groups that are doing human rights campaigning/advocacy work this month, am still considering doing a Secret Santa donation for Action For Children as well (only reason I haven't is my own financial situation, I would really like to put a present under a poor child's tree), I was already donating some money to Action Aid but wanted to do more and felt that was the best way to do it as my mentally unwell and AuDHD brain can't really consistently handle all those petitions and surveys on next steps and emailing my MP about things half so well as I wish it could, but my finances can handle donating an extra £25 or so a month atm. Good on you for the hospice thing, when I get to that point in my life I'll no doubt be grateful for the kindness of people such as yourself
