Recent Downtime (11/02/2018) – Forum Upgrade

Looks like you pasted a link, not a URL. https://goo.gl/images/bDbe2D seems to be a web page, you'll need to link directly to the image in question (it'll end in an extension like .jpg, .png, or .gif). :)
Yeah when copy the link from the share button on Google it links to the page. What I do is press and hold...

Whoops pressed post too soon.

Press and hold, select open in new tab, go to the tab, share the URL of that page (ie of the image itself) and then bring it back here. Chrome on Android.

Looks reasonable enough, would really appreciate a dark mode theme though (I'm not convinced it's actually any brighter, but it somehow feels like everything is brighter lol). I never really use the site on mobile and when I did I never really had any issues, although I guess I never actually logged in or poster via mobile, which probably explains it...

hmm, I've been posting anna images while on PC all I've done is right click on the image/image address from google and pasted it, coming up as normal. I'll try it now:
https://wallscover.com/images/shimoneta-wallpaper-7.jpg

nope. that's the address... this is the same image (copy image, not image address):

works as normal. I have a choice between a thumbnail (this one) and a full image from just pasting it as an image.
I'll have to try it on android before long

Urgh - android - avatars disappeared until I refreshed for IncendiaryLemon 's post.
Now trying images on android, Google chrome:
images (1).jpeg
Well, that was an awful experience. Found no way to copy the image, even when it had it's own tab, so I downloaded and inserted it. Not a bad tool for uploading, it's just, awful trying to copy images on android

Inset Image, then click the link bit inside that prompt, like so

This part definitely seems a bit more for the PC crowd as it adds an extra step for mobile where you can't drag and drop. Previously that button went straight to the link box.

like they've heard people having problems with typing on their phone and just went full that-
I think it was the first they heard of the problems when I posted yesterday, but they do say it was built with mobile in mind.

Just copy the URL from the page when it's in its own tab.

Truth be told, I had no idea you could do it any other way than embedding a link like I've just shown. It's how I've been doing it since I started using the forum!

Press and hold on the image and this menu pops up:

Select "Open image in new tab" and then select the new tab:

Select the menu, top right, and select share (I've already got it set to "copy link"). Then come back here and press the image button and select link, then paste:

And boom:

The links in the email notifications to the thread/conversations seem to be in http and not https.

Alex's Blu Ray Sale

Though even manually adding the s, doesn't prevent the browser (Chrome) giving me a "this is an insecure connection" error.
(Having those alert emails in Thunderbird.)

I think I fixed that earlier, but I’ll take another look. :)

Well my first experience of the desktop site is largely positive, but I have to echo @Girls wIth Guns thoughts here - Obviously I didn't notice this from the mobile version of the site, but avatars getting smaller when resolutions are constantly getting higher seems a little bit backwards. I use a 4k monitor on my desktop, the text on posts is now much clearer than in the old forum (for which I'm grateful) but the avatars look about a quarter of the size.

Strikethrough is back next to the usual bold/italic/underline where it belongs, and the inline spoilers now have their very own button on the toolbar.
Except it doesn't appear in the mobile version, even if I switch to landscape. I can see it when I select desktop mode on Chrome and the delete/save post button that you have already pointed out is hidden in the mobile version.
If it's a matter of it disappearing because of space I'd rather lose underline, I don't think I've ever used it.

Another thing I've noticed is that you can't go back/forward a page from the top, only from the bottom. Granted most of the time you'll be reading the latest post and will thus be at the bottom, but it was used occasionally.

I like the inline spoiler button even though I still catch myself doing it manually before remembering it's there 🤦‍♂️
