Jormungand - Episodes 1 & 2 (Dub)

This show is actually really good. I bought both seasons on a whim after reading positive things about it from people here and elsewhere. I'm glad it's got a pretty good dub too. The British accents/dialogue in the second episode was glorious.

Great to see more people watching Jormungand. I started my rewatch of Jormungand Perfect Order, but have paused it so I could lend the BD to my friend.

Whittled my up to date simulcasts down to Aldnoah Zero, Akame ga Kill and Baby Steps. Basically if it was on Wakanim, I've dropped it :p

I'm pretty sure I wasn't laughing as hard when I watched the show in Japanese.

You enlisted in the War on Pants and don't even know why you're fighting?! :O

If I remember correctly, it's explained in-universe as being because striker units would burn up trousers, so witches simply opt not to wear them. As in real life, the trend then caught on with civilians.
 
Hunter x Hunter 1-5 - After getting many pokes, prods and pushes to start it, i finally got onto it last night. It's not bad so far actually, has quite a decent story and cast of characters. Admittedly it's early days still, but we'll see how things progress. Like it so far.

Yeah, comedic moments doesnt work well subbed, since you have to read about it rather then hear and experience the joke yourself, kind of like a friend who is telling you the jokes in a comedy film you havent seen yet.

I believe the Japanese tagline for the series is something along the lines of "They aren't panties, so it's not embarrassing!". So take that as you will. I think the reason was more a practical reason than that, that trousers/skirts would be too restrictive during flight. But most importantly 'sex sells'.

Ahh that all makes sense, i did think it might be something to do with the striker units but then seeing other girls dressed like that confused me but yeah it being trend that caught on with civilians makes sense.

Gosick (Japanese Dub) - Episodes 07-12

50% done in 2 days. Trying not to burn myself out but the show is great to watch. Should be done by Saturday.
 
Read or Die episodes 3-7

Nearly gave up after a couple episodes as the tonal shift from ova to tv series was massive but glad I persisted. The three sisters are very likeable.
