Don't forget how Inaho has the princess, Slaine deserves her more than him at this point. I want Slaine to get his own fanservice harem episode or something, he needs a vacation.

GITS Arise ep 1 : Hour long anime episodes of a quality sci-fi thriller!??!? Have I died and gone to heaven? Nope, unfortunately not quite, as I could in no way, shape or form keep up with it. It sort of (very very sketchily) made sense by the end but for 45 minutes I was like "what? how? who? where? why?" non-stop. I'm genuinely not sure if it was poorly plotted or I'm just too slow and stupid for GITS. I recently had not much trouble keeping up with the beeb's "The Honorable woman", a show people either criticized for "not explaining anything properly", or praised for "leaving the viewer to work things out for themselves without hand holding", and thus concluded I was in the upper echelons of the nation's television watching intelligentsia. But boy, this episode of Arise makes The Honorable Woman look like Noddy, and I am now doubting my intellectual prowess :(

DAT OPENING AND ENDING THOUGH. GOAT MATERIAL. Yoko who? Forget anything that has come before this and that will likely come after, this is a breath of fresh heavenly understated and classy light piercing through the dark cloudy darkness of anime opening and ending gaudiness. I will gladly sit through them every episode like this:

Akame ga Kill ep 8.

Baby Steps ep 21.

Jormungand s1 ep 9-12 (complete). The action scenes were a bit rubbish but the main two characters are truly fascinating. I'm eagerly awaiting season 2 dropping through my letterbox.

Ghost in the Shell Arise ep 2: Alright, I'm now pretty sure it's not just me, this is an absolute load of overly convoluted poo. So much frigging incomprehensible techno jargon which I'm not sure makes sense to real life techno nerds and hackers, but I personally do not find it entertaining to set through reams of totally indecipherable dialogue that is essentially gibberish to me. And it's not just that, but the entire plot as a whole is pretty much gibberish that's complicated just for the sake of being complicated, often virtually unintelligible, and totally unsatisfying. The final revelations at the end are in no way worth the 50 minutes of noggin scratching bafflement you have to endure to get to them. There are some good aspects of political intrigue, and themes of memory/ identity as per usual for GITS in here, but it's totally washed away by all the gibberish. It's a shame the team haven't found a more elegant, effective and satisfying way of present those things. Bring back Oshii, he was the only one to ever really get it right.

Can anyone honesty tell me they could follow what was happening without any issues?

It's a real shame as that opening and ending is totally

Shakugan no Shana [Season 1] (Japanese Dub) - Episodes 19-21

Got nothing to watch online on CR (and Rail Wars is delayed as usual on Animax, might as well watch it elsewhere if this keeps going) so I'm going through Shana.

Episode 19 concluded the arc from episodes 17 & 18, I liked this arc since everyone pretty much knows the truth about each other (no more hiding!) with the exception of Sakai's friend.

Episode 20 & 21 now starts the final arc of Season 1. A cliffhanger, oh boy. I'll finish the series tomorrow.

Shakugan no Shana [Season 1] (Japanese Dub) - Episodes 22-24 (Complete)

Saving the Shana I specials for tomorrow. Season 1 was very good, few pacing issues (quite slow) and I wasn't that into it in the first two episodes but overall I'm happy with the ending result.
