Started Steins;Gates. My word, why did I wait so long to watch this? Watched the first 6 episodes in quick succession last night and I am absolutely hooked. Great characters. Watching it with the original Japanese dub and recognised the VA as the same who did Kida from Durarara. His laugh and OTT voice is hillarious.

It's a great series, glad to see your not getting put off by the slowish opening, it starts to pick up the pace nicely about midway and you'll probably be marthoning episodes to see what happens :)

Got 2 episodes left. Watched about 10 over the weekend, and another few today taking me up to 23. My word I am in love with this series. I wasn't impressed with Chaos;Head so I had doubts about this, but they were unfounded.

I'll watch the last two tonight and then look forward to Robotics;Notes

Fairy Tail (English Dub) - Episodes 29, 30, 31 & 32

29 was a great conclusion for the previous arc, and it's official they're now together as a group.

30 felt like filler (apparently it wasn't) but it was quite funny to watch (Erza has stage fright bless her).

31 and 32 was an interesting mini arc focusing on one of the guild characters back-story, felt quite dark.

Also that piece of music used in certain scenes (like the one used in 32) reminds me of Yuki Kajiura (or perhaps Kingdom Hearts).

Princess and the Pilot

An enjoyably low-key film, the only unpredictable (and arguably the best) thing about which is the ending. A potentially interesting alternate WWII setting is left frustratingly sketchy in favour of focusing on the developing relationship between the two lead characters, though it fell a little short there as well. Dat waterfall.

As for Fate/Zero, it's downfall is probably the fact it ties into Fate/Stay Night, I really enjoyed it because of all the references but if your coming to it cold I can definitely see that it'd not work as well. It's also got a somewhat unfortunate setup in that you know nothing major can happen till much later in the plot because you've only got seven servants to play with and killing any too early means the finale is going to be rather bland.
That's a good point about Fate/Stay Night. I've not seen the show nor read the VN, nor do I want to, and - even though F/Z is a prequel - that means I have no investment in the world nor the story surrounding the vague wish-granting do-dah these people are after. On the other hand, I just don't think this magical battle stuff is for me. F/Z reminds me of a shounen fighting anime with added grimdarkness and psychobabble (hello Urobochi). Bores me to tears.

/adopts defensive stance

Fair enough, also am I seeing a Warrior World of Warcraft reference there if you adopting defensive stance rather than raising a more typical internet flame shield? :)

Eureka 7 Episodes 11 & 12

Is it the recent US BD release, or just DvD/Stream? I'm curious as to how the BD release turned out.

It is the recent US BD release (I'm not one for watching streams). It looks good so far. How it holds up to the old Bandai dvds I'm not sure since it is a while since I watched those. Part 1 comes on 3 bds with all the extras (excluding commentaries which are on the relevant bds) being on a dvd.

Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne! (Japanese Dub) - Episodes 8

Don't think you're getting away with this one scot-free! I'll be back when I have more time.

Fairy Tail (English Dub) - Episodes 33, 34, 35 & 36

This is a pretty interesting arc.

I do have one complaint, the OP/EDs appear too early in the series for their arc, for instance OP 4 appears just as we get into the arc that was used in OP 3.
