Hyouka 4
Jormungand 6

Ughhhh i'm so far behind on everything. Kinda sad that I've fallen behind already considering I wanted to keep this season for the first time in like...3 years. Need to get back to AKB as well...Not kept up with my Kara No Kyoukai weekly watch either!

Strike Witches 1-3

My thought was: Wow, after watching BDs and upscaled DVDs for so long, standard definition is crap (due to the nature of the er...war on pants, I decided not to watch it on my downstairs blu-ray player). I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think "OMG AWESOME!" other than Mio Sakamoto being adorable.

i had to change my viewing plans cause of a few things but i will defently watch cat planet cuties tomorrow

I watched Cat Planet Cuties all 13 episode in 1 night finished about 3.15am on Tuesday

Crappy show, can't believe I watched that only for seeing Eris in heat
Wow, is that seriously what they called Asobi ni Iku yo! in English? Boy.

Also, I thought that show was a little underrated, but you have to be prepared to give it credit for doing a lot of things intentionally, that were perhaps unintentional.

ayase, I love YUA (to the extent that I imported all the anime and a bunch of CDs) and enjoyed reading your comments. The fact that you want more granularity than a ten-point scale and not less is worrying, though.

Interesting thing I noticed: I actually prefer watching Strike Witches on my laptop as opposed to my blu-ray player. I tried both of my players last night when I watched 4-6 and the colour was pretty flushed out at times. Not sure if that was an issue with my TV, or the discs themselves (MangaUK's release).

Up until the end of the 19th century, men and women could be "close", like that without actually being lovers, and it was socially acceptable. Women could do rather questionable things like, kissing and men could share a bed and it it was just a sign of their close friendship, nothing more. It's a bit different now, of course.

For Yoshika, considering her dreams and her actions, it is hard to get that kind of idea about her and Lynette perhaps just doesn't understand the real motivation behind Yoshika's actions.

Oh and personally, I don't pair any of them, anyway. Though the odds of one of them being bi-curious or lesbian is more than likely.
*Ponders*
Fascinating.

So I take it in the 21st Century, we're all just too damn self conscious now? xD

cat planet cuties is bliss for a ecchi loving freak like me lol and its only the first disc

tenchi muyo GXP disc 4 and 5

More than anything, I like marks out of a hundred as I can treat it as the percentage of time spent watching the series which I found enjoyable. Increments of ten percentage points are just to large in that case.

Nice to know that three people at least read my thoughts. Plenty of people write stuff and receive no additional comments from me it's true, but usually because I haven't watched the show they've been writing about. I somehow expected more people would have watched and had things to say about YUA, which was one of the reasons I made a greater effort than usual.

Strike Witches 7-12
Episode 7 made me wonder if the witches actually own more than one pair of pants each?! Also, Lt. Hartmann, you so crafty!. I heard Todd Haberkorn's voice in episode 8; wasn't happy.

Episode 10 was an interesting turn. Despite it being an awesomely serious episode, they had throw in the typical boob grab scene in the middle (can't have the mood too dark for too long eh? =3).

I'll be honest, I wonder if Sound of the Sky ripped this series off? (Just replacing the fanservice with non-sexual moe). Considering how we not only have a military base whose main force consists entirely of young girls right next to a major battle scene (The 501st being near Europe, the 1121st being near No Man's Land) and the last episodes featuring The new recruit finding the enemy and realising they are not so different after all, only for a superior officer bent on furthering war to arrive and take control of the area, prompting a rebellion from the main characters.

Then there's Filicia and Minna, who are both part of the "Leading pair" of the base and have suffered massive losses which still affect them to that day
and the grey-haired girl who is always sleeping (Noël and Sanya). Also, the lead character's main strength isn't related to direct combat and plays a supporting role (Kanata's trumpet and Yoshika's healing) and there's a side character who is initially envious of the attention the main character gets from the older member of the group (Kureha and Perrine).

Also, consider me a Barkhorn and Hartmann fan xD

Now there's something I have to ask...how come even the civilians don't wear trousers?

EDIT: Watching the episode 12 commentary now...I never noticed the runway was in the shape of a penis! xD

So if I have a show that scores 73%, and one that scores 74%, what was the actual difference? :p

I almost agree with people who say you can reduce it down to two scores (Worth watching, or not), although I think you need at least a third one ("Must watch" or something along those lines for you top x% of shows). Five is ideal, imo. Once you reach ten, you already have both scores that people do little to differentiate between, and scores that people almost never use for practical and psychological reasons.

It is unfortunately some time since I watched the original series of YUA, which is the main reason I didn't post anything. If you go on to watch the later seasons, I have watched those more recently and might comment.

Agreed, SW is hardly breaking new ground with its character archetypes and plot points, you would have to look to far more general things to see where Sora no Woto's inspirations "really" come from.
