The Boss
ayase said:Not always. While this is broadly the case (which more or less means greedy distributors kowtowing to the BBFC anyway), but there have been some notable examples of actual "censorship" in the BBFC forcing cuts regardless of age certification and outright banning films / games. In this day and age to carry on with the attitude that the censors have some kind of moral authority over others and know what's best for the public is just archaic.chaos said:The idea of a BBFC criteria amuses me.
Also, Ayase mentioned censors. How does this censorship works in UK? My understanding is that most distributors censor themselves in order to get lower age rating for whatever they are releasing, as it increases their revenue.
Isn't that always the case, except for pornography?
Links probably NSFW (now there's another thing that pisses me off but I feel obliged to mention it...)
And you only tell me the links aren't safe after I've clicked on them and got a HUGE WARNING on my screen, screaming thought my speakers that I'm trying to access adult material!?
glad I didnt even blink, otherwise my boss would turn and see what I was seeing (as it happened the other day when I said WTF for some images in the general conversation thread....)
