Death Note 17-24
The first few eps on this set frankly bored me a little especially when it seemed to be trying to be light-hearted (no pun intended) but by the end... wow. When is the next volume out? :D
The second op. is awful though.

Hellsing Ultimate 1
Just what I was expecting really. Stylish, bloody fun with proper English dub. Left me with a grin as big as Alucard's.

Renkin San-kyuu Magical Pokan 7-12 & OVAs
I'm actually sad there's no more of this. It was cute. It was ecchi. It was hilarious. Sometimes it was oh so very wrong. Please, somebody commision a second series!

...

I thought it was awesome! :O But, meh
I've nothing against the second end theme though. :p

A bit of thrash is fine until it descends into screaming over noise. It's specifically the WHAT'S UP PEOPLE!? bit at the end that makes my ears ache. If it wasn't for that it wouldn't be so bad...

PIPIRU PIRU PIRU PIPIRU PII

Oh my. I can count one hand the times I've laughed out loud at anime, but Dokuro-chan had me in stitches within minutes. I love how they kept up the pretence that it's a typical romance anime for all of a single minute :D

And that's the best opening ever. It just is. Also, bonus points for the Urusei Yatsura reference.

Never fear; the pre-Higuchi Yotsuba stuff you went through is the worst the anime has to offer. Even I, a Death Note lover, came very close to dropping the series after Matsuda played the role of Solid Snake. Lots of comedy and no evil Light equals failure in DN.

The second OP does grow on...after you watch it for weeks. The insanity of it all, with Ryuk dancing holding an apple, L spinning on his chair and picking up sweets, Misa posing and the song sounding like the KKK theme tune made it stick in my mind. When I first saw it I thought it was a joke AMV the fansubbers had added to the start of the episode!

Oh yeah, forgot to add: Watched Crest of the Stars 7-8 last night.

For a 13 episode series about the beginning of a space war, it's slow-paced and lacks the epic feel I expected. It's very good thanks to Lafiel (sp?), just not awe inspiring or worth going on a 13 episode marathon for.

Strait Jacket. Not a bad mixing of magic and technology. I probably would have liked to see this as a short series rather than a film as there was not quite enough time to get to know the characters.

Ghost Hunt Part 01 box set. Nice simple ghost mystery series, bit of action and intelligence. I am hoping it will start releasing more of the character back stories with Part 02.

Nearly finished Kamichu. A little different from what I was expecting, but a lovely series.

Crest of the Stars - 9-13 (rate it 7.5/10)

From start to finish, the only great thing about this series was the relationship between the two main characters. Lafiel amused me with her direct way of speaking and lack of social skills, her interaction with Jinto never being dull. Lafiel's voice actress did a fantastic job of matching her voice up to the character; her voice fitted Lafiel perfectly.

Everything else was average. The space battles were poor, for the most part just being dots moving about on a screen (did this even have a budget?), and the battles outside of space consisted of Lafiel killing everyone with one laser shot. The story was equally disappointing, with a war taking lace that viewers would find hard to give a damn about when the players in the political side barely got shown - it was just a distraction. The music was also unmemorable, the OP theme (and ani...well, random pictures) in particular not being one to stick in the memory.

If CotS had simply been a story about Jinto and Lafiel adventuring and nothing else had been shown then it would've been great. It's too bad the other elements had to combine to make it a little disappointing...

On a more positive note, I'm still going to watch Banner of the Stars BECAUSE I already have it on DVD and I want to see more of Lafiel.

Right, just finished watching Gundam 00 episode 9(first season obviously), finally got back into it, thought i may as well since i was enjoying it before i put it on hold. Also watched Clannad ~After Story ~ 3, Ga-Rei Zero 1 and Toradora 1, all of which i'm gonna post about in the autumn season topic.

Drooling over the new Gundam 00 the non fighting lovers will be killing each other soon is my prediction

Just watched 7-8 of Love Hina.

Even though the anime isn't the worst I've seen, it's really bugging me how much poor filler is being added and how much of the manga is being ignored. Episode 7 gave Naru a filler boyfriend and was also about a dream viewing device Su invented, while episode 8 was about Motoko having a random RPG dream. Both episodes were crap and added nothing to the series. What makes it even worse is that some of the manga events are being twisted to suit the fillers, meaning they won't be shown later on.

Here's an example of what bugged me about episode 5: In the manga, Keitaro and Naru failed the Tokyu U exam after putting in lots of work and had a huge row before both set off for Kyoto to cool down. In the anime, both seemed to failed after only being shown working together once (and one pre-exam exam shown in the manga was skipped) and the two didn't have a huge row prior to going to Kyoto, which made them both just up and leaving seem silly.

I'm going to watch all the volumes I have (3/6) and then ditch the anime. It's quite simply trash in comparison to the manga.

Serial Experiments Lane 1-4 Still need to see more of this series to appreciate it I feel. Story is quite interesting so far however I find some of the voices a little wooden and some of the animation also leaves me uninspired with it's blacks and reds. Put me off a little but like I said, I need more time.

Full Metal Panic (Complete Series 1) Just watched the full series and am suprised I hadn't watched it till now. I really enjoyed it. It was series and funny without the genres clashing. I liked the mobile suits scenes just as much as I like the school scenes. It was all good. Characters loveable and story line didn't get slump at any point I felt. IMO it's a 9/10. Now to watch Second Raid.

But before that I have Haibane Renmei to watch under Ayase' orders. :p
