Re:Zero-Episodes 8-12

Hoorah, I caught up!

I really enjoyed the Mansion arc. It was a good mix of comedy, mystery, drama and action and really made great characters out of Rem and Ram, who I thought were only going to be comedy relief side characters. That said, I am rather happy to be moving on from it, as I did wonder what happened to Felt and Reinhard after Episode 3. I really didn't see the end of episode 12 coming, and I am really interested to see what they do with the election plot to tie it in with Subaru's power. Oh, and by the way, I am totally rooting for Felt as Queen. I really loved her during those initial episodes and I've been dying to see more of her!

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou-Episodes 21-24 (Complete)

Episode 21: This anime got way more depressing than I ever thought it would.

Episode 22: Why didn't you tell him how you feel Aoyama? You're breaking my heart ;_;

Episode 23: Misaki's speech in this episode may just be one of the most perfect anime moments I've ever seen. It sums up the whole series perfectly and is just incredibly emotional to watch.

Episode 24: I am a little disappointed that we didn't get a proper Sorata/Shiina kiss, but that scene was still cute regardless.

Honestly, this series was superb and horrifically overlooked. I'd highly recommend to anyone who likes Romance shows.

Bungou Stray Dogs - Complete - I'll give this show 7/10 the second half was miles better that the first. There are some issued with animation shortcuts and the comedy aspect just didn't work for me but it was reasonably enjoyable. Will probably watch season 2.

Bungo Stray Dogs episode 12 - Why is it finished now ;_: Autumn can't come soon enough!

The Lost Village final episode (don't remember the number). Sigh. That series was not what I expected or wanted at all. :(

Re:Zero - Episode 12 - A much slower episode this week, not that I mind. I am however quite conflicted as I like Emilia well enough but Felt was really likable at the start. I guess if I had to pick I'd go with Emilia just now, mainly for the benefit of Rem & Ram lol.

Though it took in excess of three weeks to watch, I have finally, and indeed satisfactorily, finished watching Nadia: The Secret of Bluewater.

The Garden of Sinners Chapter 1: Overlooking View (Thanatos)

This was okay I guess. Considering the hype, I'm not impressed. Not yet anyway. It's weird, each film has its own MAL page, so I feel kind of obligated to rate each one individually, but it's still a film series, one that is non chronological at that, so I kind of feel bad for giving this a 7, when I think the series on the whole could be better. It certainly has potential, the animation and music was fantastic, and the story wasn't even bad, I just think the fatal flaw is that it doesn't establish itself at all. We don't really know anything about the characters, their relationships to one another, how the world works in terms of spirits and the like (and I'm just assuming they're spirits), what the character's motivations are or what their ultimate goals are. It didn't really confuse me per say, I could follow it, but it really didn't explain a thing about what was going on. The biggest headscratcher for me was definitely the 8 spirits that occupied the building where people were jumping from. Why were the spirits there of people who hadn't died yet? There was a few confusing lines about how time worked in the building but I could barely make heads or tails of it, definitely could have been streamlined. Not sure if this was down to the writing or the translation though, it honestly could be either.

The next film seems to be set a few years before this one, so maybe that will do a better job of introducing everything, which would make this story a lot better in hindsight. I'm going to stick with a tentative 7/10, but it honestly could change depending on later entries.

Food Wars ep1-3

Jesus wept, this is filthy. Hilarious, but filthy.

What thinkest thou?

The Garden of Sinners Chapter 2: Murder Speculation Part 1 (...and nothing heart)

A much more enjoyable film that the first, mostly due to its character focus. The split personality thing did throw me a little bit, mostly because Shiki flat out says at one point that it's not a split personality, but really I think it is, it has to be. I do wonder how she managed to get rid of her murderous other self, seeing as she didn't appear to have multiple personalities in the first film, so hopefully that's something touched upon later. I also noticed the complete lack of anything supernatural here, strange considering how the first film was almost entirely rooted in ghosts and spirits. Hopefully the series keeps getting better!

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable-Episode 13

A bit of a silly episode but it had a good ending and was generally pretty funny.

The Devil is a Part Timer!-Episodes 1 and 2

Episode 1: I can't say I was overly fussed on this first episode. It raised a couple of chuckles but it never really made me laugh. Saying that though, the very idea of Satan working at a fast food restaurant and being really into it is in itself quite funny. Chi is also really cute, so there's that.

Episode 2: Ditto for episode 2. I think the dynamic between Emi and Maou could be interesting. I think I was expecting a bigger emphasis on the MgRonalds though, I thought the majority of the show would be set there.

Terraformars Revenge (Japanese audio) - Episodes 12-13 (Complete)

While this series was definitely the weakest out of all the shows I've been watching over the Spring 2016 season, I personally enjoyed the story's progress and that last episode has got me hyped to read the manga again (I bought volumes 1 & 2 before the first season got released). Sure the tone was PG-13, the animation ain't great (that last episode had some seriously poor animation) and the comedic moments were out of place, but I liked the rest of it (battle scenes, story & music). The music was great imo, metal music isn't everyone's taste but I liked the OP songs. Characters do have their moment of shine but it's very predictable on what happens next. Overall it's a below average show and would have been much better if they kept the tone the first season had (the violence and gore).

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable (Japanese audio) - Episode 13

Watched a fair few episodes of Planetes. It's pretty good, and I'm enjoying it, but I'm finding Ai's self righteousness to be quickly going from endearing to pretty damn annoying and stupid. In the last episode I watched she decided that she knew what was better to do with some guy's coffin than his own daughter. I can't get behind that. It's still generally a pretty nice show though, but probably not quite as great as I was hoping it would be.

Diamond is Unbreakable ep13

Well, of course the poop would be invisible, it stands to reason.
