I discovered that Animax's free streams are actually viewable on PS4 so I quickly watched a bunch before they timed out.

Attack on Titan Junior High ep 1-3: Actually pretty good compared to the horribly over-localised manga. Maybe I just missed the characters. Maybe I just wanted to hear Kawada Shinji's voice again. It's a good way to whet my appetite in the lead up to more Titan action in future.

Dance With Devils ep 1-3: Amazing, why does this have to be stuck on Animax?! Even my partner found it hilariously entertaining and he can't stand Rejet stuff.

Heavy Object/Shomin Sample/Chivalry of a Failed Knight ep1: I didn't like any of these at all. Heavy Object was the best of the bunch by virtue of actually having a proper plot but I think I've hit my limit for this kind of show in general.

Valkyrie Drive Mermaid ep 2: I had to start from the second episode because Animax. In addition, their PS4 app doesn't let me confirm the age check so I had to watch it on my computer with a horrible resolution and framerate, so I guess Animax don't want me to watch the show. It's a shame because it looks pretty good as sleazy fan service fighting shows go. (Is it because I have an imported PS4 and their app randomly doesn't accept Circle for select on the age confirmation screen? Who knows. I'm not going to bother asking Animax for support.)

Episodes 8 - 24 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Egypt Arc. Bloody brilliant.

Some thoughts:
I knew some people would die, it's a given.. but Avdol, Iggy and Kakyoin? (& for a time, Joseph) Hit me hard, thank god for Polnareff.

The last two OP's were killer (So good! http://file.quad.moe/file/F8BC30.webm ), maybe my favorite OP of all time. Even more so as throughout the entire show I didn't even notice the forshadowing, it tells you exactly what's going to happen in the last 5-6 episodes. :!:

The first time I saw the altered second OP where they add in Dio fighting Jotaro at the end I was pretty much jumping up and down in my chair in excitement. The JoJo OPs are always amazing and I'm super hyped to see what they come up with for Part 4.

Osomatsu-san ep2

I kind of miss the outrageous parodies of the first ep, now that they've toned it down, but perhaps that would have gotten old fast.

Also CR are now showing ads for stair cladding. What.

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex-Episodes 25 and 26 (Complete)

Kind of glad I'm done with this series. Full thoughts here.

One Punch Man-Episode 5

I still can't get over how excellent the animation is in this series. The sparring between Saitama and Genos blew me away in this episode.

Is the Order a Rabbit??-Episode 4

I'll be interested to see what Cocoa's sister is like and how long she sticks around for.

It was so good! It really did shoot your hype level up, very well done and fitting.

I'm looking forward to the weekly episodes discussions for Part 4.

Yo-Kai Watch - Episode 01 (English Dub version)

The show is good fun, and there's some surprisingly dark/grown-up jokes for a children's show. That said, it doesn't feel particularly original as it's basically the same plotline as every other male-focussed kids show for the past decade, but the one show it reminded me of that I wasn't really expecting was this year's Rinne, both plot-wise and in some of the weirdly adult jokes it fits in, but Yo-Kai is way more childish and, from this one episode, way funnier.

J.W. Terry is absolutely amazing as Whisper. It's weird that they seemingly spent all their money on Johnny Yong Bosch and then padded out the cast with relative unkowns, only to have him be upstaged by almost everyone else in the show (to the point where I'm wondering if the names given are actually aliases for more prominent VAs).

I'm really looking forward to following this at US YouTube pace, but we need to talk about those theme tunes-- What the hell were Dentsu thinking?!

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya (Dub)-Episodes 1-5

Episode 1: So I see that Kyubey has now achieved stick form.

Episode 3: Seeing Luvia getting a roundhouse to the face from Rin was very satisfying. Spaghetti head is now also my new favourite insult.

Episode 4: Wow, I had no idea Sabre was in this, that was a nice surprise. A badass looking evil Sabre too.

Episode 5: Great episode, I never really expected this show to have a ton of action but it's delivering it in spades. Not only that, it's really well animated too. This show is really going beyond my expectations.

Mr. Osomatsu/Osomatsu-san Episode 5.

While the first episode was quite impressive with all the parodies, I'd say this episode was my favourite so far.

I do feel that the show benefits a lot from spending more time on it's stories and now that we've also had some character development it feels like it can do a lot more. It was quite impressive that they even managed to get something more emotional to work without really moving too far from the usual style (and it did also involve some good jokes, especially at the end).

I wonder if they'll do a second season that'll transform into more of a slice of life show and then a third season that goes even further a bit down the line. Kind of like another show...

YuruYuri (Season 3) Episode 5.

I have to say, this season just keeps impressing me. It's not necessarily doing anything amazing but it's consistently enjoyable and feels particularly well executed. It always feels "light" but for some reason it just seems to work very well for me. Maybe I just happen to be particularly in the mood for this kind of thing just now (good thing there's also GochiUsa).

It was interesting to see some of the continuity and recognition of things that came before in this episode. The show does tend to have a continuity of sorts (though a slightly odd one) but it felt like it was handled slightly differently in this episode. One of the biggest moments seemed to be when Ayano doesn't even try to deny that Kyoko is the "one she loves" when Chitose suggests it, which was so casually done that I have to wonder if it was a translation thing or a genuine bit of development. I guess Ayano and Chitose get along pretty well, so it stands to reason that Ayano finds it easier to be honest with Chitose.

The shopping stuff was fun too, another light moment but Chitose makes some nice faces and the whole thing was just very pleasant (Yui's contribution was also good). I thought it was interesting that they brought back Chitose's fantasies, they did feel a bit different than the old ones but not in a bad way.

Himawari's issues were another element of continuity, following on from the segment (that felt a little out of place at the time) from the end of the last episode. I wonder if that's because they're working more directly from existing material or if there's some other reason for it. I don't really know what the Manga is like or how true to it the adaptations have been.

I did like the moment when Kyoko was trying to figure out if someone else was a fan of something she likes. That can be tough, especially if it's the kind of thing that would be difficult to explain to a "normal" person.

I still feel that the show isn't exactly what I might like it to be but it's doing a very good job of convincing me that it's fine as it is.

Great Teacher Onizuka (Japanese audio) - Episodes 32-34

The main story just gets better but these filler episodes are way out of place (Episode 34 in particular).

Also noticed the new Ending was supposed to appear on Episode 34 but instead it's still Shizuku.. error in masters?
