Prison School - Episode 12 (Complete)
That shot of Kyoshi kissing Hannah is litterally the grossest thing in the show. I had to pause it because I thought I would puke...

Rinne - Episode 25 (Season 1 complete)
Nice to see the show end on a high point with a surprisingly sweet and funny episode. There's so little romance in the show, I wonder if it still technically qualifies as a romcom.

I get that this show has included a lot of jokes that aren't neccesarily aimed at the young audience the show seemingly is, but the line about Rinne perving on Mamiya Sakura getting changed is a surprisingly creepy and adult joke to include in your final episode, especially when the rest of the show has been relatively mild on that front and Rinne is the least pervy character in the show.

Ushio and Tora - Episodes 13 & 14

Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans - Episode 01
So they can afford huge gigantic robots but not t-shirts? Makes sense.

I was slightly worried that I was a little too excited about this, and it's clear from the treatment it's being given that Sunrise want/expect big things from this series. But somehow it manages to live up to expectations and then some, it just works. I already like most of the characters, despite not knowing that much about them, it looks really good, and there's some good fight sequences too. Tonally, they seem to be pitching it about right too, there's one moment that is a bit psychopathic and that you are supposed to be happy about (the scene where the heroes deliberately get their superior officers killed), but rather than it being off-putting as that type of moment normally is, the show made me happy about it.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - Episode 1

I had low expectations based on the last 10 years of Gundam shows (with 00 the only real highlight and Unicorn doesn't count as it was an OVA) and that the creative staff have practically no mecha experience, and while this first episode was ok it could have been any mecha show from the last few years rather than a Gundam show IMHO.

Paranoia Agent - Episodes 7 & 8 (Blu-ray)

This continues to be absolutely brilliant.

One Punch Man-Episode 1

Fantastic first episode. Just super fast paced over the top action, loved it. If I hadn't known any better I would have said this was a Trigger show. I just hope that Mad House has the budget to keep that level of action and animation throughout the show and didn't blow their load on the first episode. All this show needs now is a good story and I'm 100% sold. Also, a bit off topic, when I watched this on Daisuke the picture didn't look fantastic despite me setting it to 1080p. It looked very compressed and definitely not HD. Anyone else find this?

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 1.
If you've seen the first episode of any other Mobile Suit Gundam series, then you've already seen this. Stuck to the same formula we've seen time and time again. I wouldn't mind seeing something more outside the box.

Also, the subtitles used "your" instead of "you're" during the credits.

Don't watch Log Horizon, the OP karaoke subtitles will do your nut in (they use "one's" instead of "ones" and "wont" instead of "won't").

For a show that airs on NHK Educational TV, you'd think somebody would have checked the English...

Spice and Wolf eps 2-6

Really enjoying this, it's one of those feel good, easy to watch shows that you can watch anytime whatever mood you're in.

The Cat Returns

This is pretty close to what i was expecting Whisper of the Heart to be, this being a fantasy film about a girl meeting talking cats and being taken back to their kingdom to be wed to the prince. It's a spin-off of sorts from WOTH with Baron and Muta having big parts. There was some pretty good humour, especially from Muta.

Going to try and watch the rest of the Ghibli films i haven't seen which include Pom Poko, Grave of the Fireflies, Ponyo & The Wind Rises. Still need to buy Princess Kaguya so won't be watching that for awhile. The only one i'm not really looking forward to Grave of the Fireflies as i've heard it's a pretty gut-wrenching and sad film.

Watched a few first episodes today.

Asterisk War: This was the worst episode of anything I have seen in ages. Ugh. I think you could easily remake the whole of the first episode with clips from other recent shows, it was that generic.
Diabolik Lovers More, Blood: Yay, now I just need to find a way to ignore all of the rage this series always generates on the Internet for the next few months ^^;
Haikyuu! s2: Amazing as always.
Onsen Yousei Hakone-chan: Much better than I expected but probably not something I will keep up with on a regular basis.

Time to move across to Daisuki now and check out the first episodes over there.

One Punch Man Episode 1
Great start to the show, I am really happy with the animation and hope Mad House keep this up - I agree with an earlier commenter saying it felt like a Trigger show, I definitely saw parts that looked like something from Kill La Kill. I am looking forward to episode 2.

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F
Very comedic and a lot of fun - I feel like Toei could have put in a bit more effort on the animation side of things (apart from parts of Goku SSJGSSJ vs Golden Frieza fight). Overall, I enjoyed the experience at the cinema and hope to see many more Anime films in the UK getting some sort of theatrical run.

One-Punch Man - Episode 01

I loved the episode, but I have concerns. For this show to work it has to be fairly quick paced, but I don't know if they'll be able to keep the pace up to the level at which the show requires to work, and even if they do, I think it might become quite tiring to watch.

Animation-wise I can't see there being an issue, because if you paid attention you'd notice that animation quality was a lot ropier during the fast cut fight sequences, I think they'll use editing tricks to overcome any animation issues they have. And looking at the amount of times Madbox was listed in the credits, I'm guessing they used a hell of a lot of CGI.

From the episodes I've seen this weekend and reviews I've read of other shows, it seems the season is off to mediocre start, which is disappointing because it looked terrible on paper too and I was hoping there would be at least some surprises. I'm probably going to check out Concrete Revolutio, Comet Lucifer and The Perfect Insider this week, but nothing else is drawing me in (except Seraph of the End, but that's a continuation, so I'm not sure it counts).

One-Punch Man 01 - Meh, I thought it was OK, not worth the hype its been getting.
Comet Lucifer 01 - I much preferred this one. Not bad looking mecha too.
Heavy Object 01 - So far my favorite of the new season.
Komori-San wa Kotowarenai! 01 - Very meh, bit of a dull 2 minutes.
Zeta Gundam 16-20 - Much more like it!

Owarimonogatari-Episode 1

Oh Monogatari. I never realised how much I missed this show until I started watching this. It takes a lot to make 45 minutes of two people talking not only visually stunning but completely engaging throughout but they did it. I noticed that no one appears to have watched this show going by this thread (or I just missed people posting about it) so if you're caught up with Monogatari so far, I wouldn't hesitate starting this new series. This first episode is fantastic.

Paranoia Agent - Episodes 9 - 13 [Final] (Blu-ray)

Very clever and full of briiliant ideas, genius that is long missed in the anime industry.
