Decided it was time to go through some backlog now that I've finished all of the simulcasts that I've been watching from the summer season.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan (Japanese audio) - Episodes 02-03

I'll probably watch a few episodes of Seraph tomorrow as I also want to get through that as well.

Giant Gorg - Episodes 25 & 26 [Final]

I thought Giant Gorg was heading for a cop out ending but actually it wrapped up pretty well in the end, not that I expected anything less from Yas, but Giant Gorg is a really, really good show.

From the New World ep1-6. What an odd series, I'm still not sure what to make of this.

Such a good series - I still haven't seen anything quite like in terms of outright tone and feel. It's just so... unnerving. Also, the juxtaposition of the classical piece From The New World (aka the music from the Hovis ad) with some of the visuals is just downright beautiful.

Hellsing Ultimate ep 2

Another ep that's retelling a couple eps from the original series, didn't remember at the time but it did feel quite familiar. While it was pretty much the same as before, it was still better this time round.

Spice & Wolf ep 1

Good starting ep, looking forward to the rest of the series. I'm guessing this series will be more character driven and the places they visit than having a major plot throughout.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan (Japanese audio) - Episodes 04-08

I'm glad I left this show until now, it's a good marathon. :thumb:

I'm also watching this on Viewster, I'm getting used to the 480p quality now.

Lance N' Masques - Episode 01
This shows was somewhat bland, certainly doesn't push the envelope in any way. However, it was funny in places, and I'll probably give it a few more episodes.

Lance N' Masques ep1: I didn't have high expectations but this show was so uninspired and generic that it somehow failed to meet them anyway. It was pointless from start to finish.

Overlord ep1: There is something to be said for the viewing experience affecting the way you feel about a show. I don't think this is a great title anyway, but watching it months late on Animax's horrible player exacerbated my negativity and I don't think I'll bother with the rest. It reminds me a little bit of Maoyu; an average fantasy show with a gimmick that many seemed to enjoy while I couldn't get into it. The boob jokes have a similar quality as well.

I think I should have a policy of switching off the moment a lead says something like "I just wanted a normal life". It would save me so much grief.

Aww that's a shame. I would say that Overlord gets much better as it goes along. Still, it can't please everyone.

Paranoia Agent - Episodes 1 & 2 (Blu-ray)

Can't believe I've waited this long to watch Paranoia Agent, certainly off to a good, paranoid start!

Whisper of the Heart

Quite liked this Studio Ghibli slice of life/romance film, thought it was quite similar to another Ghibli film, From Up on Poppy Hill. For some reason i thought it would be fantasy film and the Baron cat statue was a fantasy cat not a statue  It actually turned out to be a slice of life & romance film and the fantasy elements were part of Shizuku's story. I blame the front cover for misleading me
