Catch Up Sunday.

Actually, I Am ep11. I really hope the manga is picked up for an English language release.

GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There s1 ep12 (complete). A flawed but fun series. Personally, I feel it would be improved with a greater emphasis on the politics involved, though it would no doubt continue to portray the JSDF as saints regardless. I'll be waiting eagerly for the second season in 2016.

Non Non Biyori: Repeat s2 ep11. Cute as always. Reminds me of my own excitement when I got my first mobile phone, and since it was T-mobile I can sympathise with the signal problems :p

Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace ep11 (complete). A fascinating, dark, and completely weird anime from start to finish. Definitely the biggest surprise for me this season, in a good way.

SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist ep11-12 (complete). This improved a lot in these last two episodes and has largely redeemed the whole series in my eyes after the dull middle episodes.

The Devil is a Part-Timer ep10-11. I started this last week and after episode nine I completely forgot all about it until I noticed the BD sat on a shelf next to the tv this morning.

The iDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls s2 ep10. A very emotional episode, even if everyone was being a bit dense as to what the problem was.

GOD EATER (Japanese audio) - Episode 08

Well that happened.

Still strange to see the ending credits 16 minutes into the episode.

I don't know how I feel about the flashback at the very end. The world destroyed by rising spires? That disappointed me, the way the previous flashbacks were going it sounded like an mutations were going to attack humanity city by city and infecting other creatures to make Aragami.

Also Lenka has few years to live, interesting plot point. Apparently this bit wasn't part of the main storyline in the videogames, so original anime ending confirmed (well it looked like it was going into this direction when you have a different protagonist).

Alisa's melons get bigger and bigger in every shot tease.

Shirobako ep1

Not sure why I didn't watch this at the time (maybe because I kept getting it mixed up with Saekano), but I enjoyed that, it was like a more fleshed out version of Animation Runner Kuromi. Was also quite amused as, when I realised they were introducing the characters along with their respective job titles, my train of thought was something like "The job I'd want is character designer; which Shirobako am I?"

I am kind of okay with this.

I really liked 00 as well, definitely the best Gundam series since Turn A, I've got both of those shows on my imminent re-watch list.

Gorg isn't out yet, I'm watching the same fansubs as qaiz is (I can tell by the quoted staff members on the posts), I've been meaning to getting round to watch it for ages, and then I ummed and arred about starting when Discotek licensed it but given that the release could still be 2 years away, I though I'd watch it now and then have a good excuse to watch it again when the official release comes out.

Woah - waitaminnit! Is Giant Gorg out to buy already?!

Meanwhile, '80s mecha shows may be cool, but shows from the '00s are cool as well. Especially if they HAVE 00 in the title, like Gundam OO, which I finished off tonight.

Dear lord, I love this show! I'd forgotten what a balls-out finish it was, complete with a massive animation bump. Stellar, stellar stuff, and I'll be sitting down to soak up the movie as soon as I've got my breath back.

In the past few days:

GTO - Episode 12-19
Jojo's Bizarre Adventures: Stardust Crusaders Season 1 - Episodes 1-7
Prison School - Episode 11
School Live - Episode 11
Sword Art Online Season 1 - Episodes 14-19
Shimoneta - Episode 12 (Complete)
Wakako-Zake - Episodes 1-12 (Complete)
Girls Und Panzer Specials - Episodes 1-6 (Complete)

Yeah, been on a binge.

I believe you have a case of what is called "Winning".

To be fair, you can't really go wrong with any of the characters (though maybe some would be worse from a "would like to be" point of view).

Also, (kind of a late second half spoiler) you may get a bonus round.

I thought it was pretty special, maybe not quite all it could be (though perhaps it could have done more with more seasons) but thoroughly enjoyable and with some great characters.

Needed more Suzuno though.

I agree but I think you misspelled Ashiya?

Oops, how silly of me, you're quite right.

Although, more of both would be good. Maybe a spin-off with the two of them.

Neither of them seems to appear much in the various spin-off adaptations that currently exist, so that certainly works for me!
