Prison School - Episode 10
The audio was really screwy on Prison School this week. If Viewster are going to start charging people, they should probably sort their encoder out.

Ushio and Tora - Episode 10

Ushio and Tora has been the most consistent show of the season, and this episode keeps that up. Great to see there's still 29 episodes left.

Charlotte - Episode 11

Maybe I'm in a funny mood or something, because I seem to be the only person that thinks this, but this week's episode of Charlotte was a major achievement - never before has a show tanked itself quite so quickly and quite so spectacularly. This episode was nothing short of an absolute disaster, 24 minutes of "screw you" aimed squarely and relentlessly at the audience.

This episode directly talks down to the audience ("Yu, he's talking about us" No, really? I thought he was talking about the man in the bloody moon), uses nonsensical plot developments to try and force a happy ending (because a secret underground organisation of superpowered weirdos mass-injecting children with an unknown substance to protect against a problem that isn't public knowledge is going to go down an absolute treat), and I'd argue the episode is outright xenophobic. (The show claims Japanese superpowered weirdos are the only ones that didn't become terrorists, and literally every other country in the world's superpowered weirdos did, and therefore are enemies. That's not me exaggerating, they literally say that.)

And if that wasn't bad enough - and believe me, it was - the episode proceeds to completely abandon the series' previously established characterisation (Yu suddenly becomes unfathomably stupid, and then gives a huge emotional speech that feels like it's from an entirely different show, let alone a completely different character) and then it decides to jettison the series' previously established tone as well (just randomly torturing a dude and stringing the main female protagonist up in her underwear, cos you know, they've gotta fill these 3 episodes somehow.) Then, the show finishes the episode by asking us to feel something for Shunsuke and his band of merry men, despite Shunsuke being nothing but a colossal dick throughout the entire episode, and his merry men aren't that much nicer in the episode either.

Actually, I Am ep10. Ohhh, that ending. I hope they don't try to brush that under the carpet at the start of the next episode, if a series like this could make some actual progress on the romantic front then it would instantly become the best of it's type.

Non Non Biyori: Repeat s2 ep10. I've always found the interactions between Candy Store and Renge to be fascinating to watch, so this was my favourite episode yet.

Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace ep10. Dark stuff. This series should be a messy disaster, yet it somehow works.

The Devil is a Part-Timer ep8-9.

Yowamushi Pedal (Japanese audio) - Episodes 03-04

*couple hours later at around 3pm*

Yowamushi Pedal (Japanese audio) - Episodes 05-06

I'm definitely going to pickup Discotek's release just to help the sports genre sell. I'm not sure if Discotek's set contains both seasons (I know they have the rights to Season 1 & Grande Road) but I'm glad to see Discotek taking the risk to pickup the rights for. A lot of people are speculating it's a Crunchyroll sub-license, while it makes sense to say that I would say they got the license from TMS Entertainment instead.

Well after two nights I'm finally caught up to date with Rokka:Braves of the six Flowers and it's now my favourite show of the season I can't wait until the final episode.

Psycho-Pass 10-22
Psycho-Pass 2 01

Wish I'd seen it sooner. A quality tv series!

Only 10 episodes left then a months wait till Scotland Loves Anime and I can see the film. Must not watch fansub, must not watch fansub!

That being said the trailer for the film I saw makes more sense now.

You should probably lower your expectations for the second season.

Hunter x Hunter-Episode 101

Ikalgo confirmed for best HxH character.

Himoto! Umaru Chan-Episode 10

I'm not going to pretend like I begin to understand the Green Onions up the butt thing. Also, seeing Umaru and her brother (I never really did catch his name even 2 episodes from the end) 10 years ago was super heart warming.

Saiyuki reload gun lock.

-_-

Man I haven't seen anything that over stayed it's welcome since inuyasha.... I mean the end result is disappointing in the second season .. the first wasn't that bad of a conclusion but.. did it really need to be 50 eps long with loads of filler.. the second season is the same but isn't as good as a ending.

Even the manga doesn't give us a ending it's jus a journey to the west to India -_-.

Just need to watch gunlock now

Charlotte-Episode 11

In stark contrast to Buzz, I really enjoyed this episode. Super glad that they finally explained the title, it's been something I've been wondering about since day 1. Whilst I felt like the show probably could have ended with this episode to wrap it up, I don't feel like this episode felt too much like an unnatural extension to the series and was enjoyable. Despite not being in the show much, I feel like that final scene with Kumagami dying had a bit of emotional weight to it and I'm interested to see where they go in the final two episodes. Not sure if Buzz is a harsh critic or I'm easily pleased. Probably the latter :p

It's almost certainly me, as I am the only person that's taken against that episode quite so much whilst liking the rest of the series. I tend to find that I like most things, but if I hate something, I really hate it.

I'm tempted to talk more about that episode specifically, but nobody wants me to go off on one again...

If you feel that strongly about it, I'd be interested to see what else you have to say.

Nichijou-Episodes 16 and 17

Episode 16: No, seriously, what is Doppio?

City Hunter ep2 - love the opening credits to this show, and the obvious 80s vibe. Not sure how long Ryo's lecherous antics will remain amusing, but so far, still raises more than a few smiles :D

Evangelion ep6

Prison School ep7

Having decided that I'm done with Gate for the forseeable, I thought I'd catch up on Prison School instead. I've read it all before in its manga incarnation, but man, Gakuto smashing his prized figurine to protect the others is still gar as hell.
