I loved the first half of Soul Eater. The show goes quite downhill after the Keeshin pisses off up a mountain for most of the second half and they introduce a new villain who is hardly even a threat and gets dispatched off incredibly easily. I thought the second half also got way less fun and became way more angsty IIRC. I still really liked the show but it would have been way better if they kept the tone of the first half or simply halved the number of episodes.

I agree the 2nd half of the show does go downhill, which i think is because it's an anime-original plot/arc in the 2nd half. I'm hoping they might do something similar to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood where they cover all the manga adapted episodes again but quite quickly and then move onto new manga-adapted episodes. The manga finished a couple of years ago so here's hoping for a better adaptation with the same kind of art style as that was one of it's best features (even if it did stop me from watching initally )

Mysterious Girlfriend X eps 4-6

The saliva stuff is still weird, they can have the same injuries when someone tastes her saliva now :?

Space Adventurer Cobra. I only bought this because it was 50p, and I kind of wish I hadn't bothered. It might have been watchable if the main character wasn't such an overgrown child with no apparent emotional attachment to anything. I'm not even sure he knew why he went along with events as he did.

Really? I know Cobra isn't exactly the most complex character ever created, but I never got that from the film. If memory serves, he seeks out the other sisters to atone for his failure to save Jane.

I got the impression he only did that because he had nothing better to do. After one of the sisters died he was back on his ship, said something about how sad it was, then suddenly started asking what was for dinner and seemed completely over it. He certainly didn't seem to be in love, no matter how much the film insisted otherwise. I understand there is a series which goes before this movie, so it's possible that I might have liked Cobra more if I had seen that, but watching this film as a stand-alone story I just couldn't find anything to like about him at all.

Gangsta. - Episode 6

Prison School - Episode 1
I've heard a lot about this show, so I finally gave in and watched it, but I have no clue what to make of this.

Most of the more traditional Inbetweeners-style sex jokes weren't funny, there were a lot of jokes that could have been funny, and perhaps should have been funny, but the execution didn't work for me. On the more positive front there were a few moments that were funny purely because of how random and weird they were, mostly the excessive levels of recon and matching outfits for the titular peep job. I'm not sure I can handle the awkwardness though, it took me about 50 minutes to watch a 25 minute episode, because I had to keep pausing to cringe. I kind of enjoyed it though, and I'll probably give it another episode to see if it takes me any less time to get through.

I'd absolutely love it if it ended with the shock twist that all of the guys are gay, and they've all been going along with it purely to try and convince the others they're straight...

Non Non Biyori Repeat-Episode 6

I don't know about anyone else but that was the best firework I've ever seen.
I enjoyed this episode quite a bit, I liked seeing Natsumi and Hotaru alone, as the show points out, this hasn't really happened before. I also thought Hotaru was really cute in this episode.

Hunter x Hunter-Episodes 63 and 64:

Episode 63: I really hope Biscuit gets her dual drills back. I don't even care if they don't address it and it's just back in the next episode.

Episode 64: Down to only a single drill. Oh well.

I have to agree, that firework was pretty awesome and completely took me by surprise. At first I thought it would be a dud but it ended up being something really cool (which somehow wasn't on fire, though that would have been cool in it's own way). Easily beats any of the fireworks in The Lord of The Rings.

I now know how people feel when I enthusiastically talk to them about an anime/film/game I've enjoyed. It made me feel a little sad, even if it was fun to watch.

I did like this one quite a lot. I feel like a couple of episodes have made reference to events that we haven't seen, I wonder if they're already thinking of another season to fill in more gaps. I certainly wouldn't complain.

And in the old anime she wasn't even blonde!

latest

Prison School - Episodes 2-5

The episodes got a lot funnier and a lot less awkward than the first, and I'm really enjoying it (even though I didn't think I would).

Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ - Episodes 35 - 37 (Blu-ray)

ZZ is now a consistently good show, just a shame about those first dozen or so episodes.

Space Adventurer Cobra.

I quite enjoyed the film, I thought it was kind of trippy and quite deep at times.
