Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ - Episodes 23 & 24 (Blu-ray)

Now at the half way point and ZZ is now a more familiar Tomino UC Gundam series, rather than the silly Xabungle style mecha show that were the first dozen or so episodes.

Gakkou Gurashi (School Live!)-Episode 4

Oh my God, this show is so GOOD. And that ED. I really REALLY hope that someone picks this up for UK release. I know that' probably way down the line but I need to own this. Oh and Megu-nee not driving her own car despite being the only qualified driver out of the four super duper confirms she isn't real.

Hunter x Hunter-Episodes 28-30

Episode 30: Glad to see Kurapika back after being missing from the last few episodes.

I think you're getting close to what's probably my favourite arc from the whole show, be prepared for it to get very, very dark...

Yeah, the Yorknew arc is the next one up. I think I'm about halfway through the Heaven's Arena arc. I am looking forward to the Yorknew arc, I heard it's the show's best arc.

Ranpo Kitan e.4 - I guess I was expecting something more out of the first episode about the series equivalent of Moriarty, that's not to say it was bad, but I thought maybe a two part episode would be in order. Anyway, I assume he will return, so I hold out hope.

Ushio and Tora - Episode 4

You know your joke is well written when you have add a subtitle at the bottom of the screen explaining it....

Gate - Episode 4

This show has never been overtly bad but it feels like it's never going to live up to the excitement of the first episode. The show just seems to have ground to a halt, and even though the premise is clearly calling for dumb fast-paced action, it's not going to deliver that (at least not any time soon). Maybe I'd be slightly more favorable if I found any of the show's trope characters amusing/arousing/anything other than meh, but sadly I don't. It has the potential to be great, but is banking on the novelty aspect of it's premise far too much, and as a result it isn't paying attention to things that actually matter, like plot and making me not want to fall asleep..

This season seems to be suffering from a lot of shows that are less than the sum of their parts. I can think of a few where there's nothing I could single out as objectively bad, but the show just doesn't mesh together as well as it should.

Actually, I am... ep4

Not gonna lie, I would much rather CR had given us this

I do hope someone licenses this series, I'm having a lot of fun watching it and I'm glad that Seven Seas picked up the manga rights now.

Chatlotte - Episode 5

Well, I guess we all knew they were going to link Yuu and Nao, but here it just seems a little sudden, forced and distinctly out of character for both of them (who in previous episodes barely manage to hold a conversation with each other). Coupled with this the lead seems to have gone from being an dangerous unlikeable sociopath to the group's father figure in the space of 4 episodes, and whilst I could have brought the previous three episodes of personality softening, this week it just pushes it a little too far, and it doesn't really work.

On more positive fronts it's nice to see them dropping their one (unfunny) recurring joke for future episodes, and if I'm guessing correctly they're beginning to launch the overarching narrative, which is probably what the show is most lacking at this point.
