OverLord (Japanese Dub) - Episode 01

Loving it! This show is one of four I've been most hyped for (the others were GOD EATER, Monster Musume and Prison School) in this season. Now I really want the OST.

For those wondering where I watched it, well I went with fansubs because F.U. Funimation

Durarara!! e. 4-10 - It's strange, I had completely forgot about episode 7. To the extent that I wonder if I actually skipped it accidentally when the show was airing. Definitely hadn't forgotten the mic drop moment at the end of ep 10, though, heh.

Is The Order a Rabbit?-Episode 8

The beach episode wasn't even at the beach. Huh. Well, I say that, I suppose they could have a beach episode too... Also, something weird I noticed is they totally changed the spellings of 2 of the names in the subs. They changed Sharo to Syaro and Lize to Rize. Syaro and Rize are the correct spellings going by the names in the opening and I guess they changed them to make them easier to read in English but it's kind of weird they'd change to their original spellings three quarters in.

Gundam Seed-Episode 21-23

Episode 21: Good final confrontation between Kira and Andrew.

Episode 22: I guess I can add Possessive and Jealous to the every growing list of why I hate Flay.

Kill la Kill - Episodes 15 & 16

So many revelations, twists and turns with these two episodes. Unfortunately, none of it will have any weight or be given room for growth, because this anime moves too fast for its own good.

To be honest I actually felt sorry for her the whole time when I first watched the series.... sure she has her bad moments but she just lost her father and she is placing the blame on kira..... to be honest its a tragedy

I mean, yes, I felt sorry for her then but I still don't think that fully justifies her actions and the way she treats others throughout the series. Personally, I thought she was kind of a bitch even before her Dad died and that his death only exacerbated her personality. Also, I don't really have a solid idea of the time frame, but her Dad died fairly early in the show, so to still use that to justify her actions when it's almost at the halfway point seems kind of flimsy. I mean, in show time, it must have at least been a couple of months if not longer.

Also, you might want to spoiler up your post.

I always kind of liked Flay - I just found her character really interesting precisely because she was so messed up and manipulative. She goes to any extreme, and her transformation from average schoolgirl to almost yandere levels of mania make her a great love-to-hate role within the show. I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say I feel sorry for her, but I think you can sympathise with her gradual, tragic deterioration.

The show continues to be great. The music is really a highlight for me and takes me back to those days when I watched Macross so of course nothing but good vibes are in the air while I watch this. From the OP which fills me with excitement to the ED which is bittersweet and emotional, reminding me of the impeding end to all of the music in between, its all great.
The animation is also a highlight in this series, very painterly and beautiful. A lot of it is static, like many old series, but to be fair it’s pretty much a staple of the late Osamu Dezaki (the director) and if you’ve seen Ashita no Joe (Tomorrow’s Joe) and such, you’ll know what I mean. It’s generally known as the pastel freeze frame but Osamu dubs it postcard memories and I’m a fan of it in these types of shows as it really drives home the childlike nature of them and the adventures that awaits, almost fairy-tale like in its presentation. It’s a cost cutting measure no doubt but in the end it works well here and is incorporated wonderfully and blends in with the painterly visuals.
Osamu Dezaki is actually a really fascinating director that brings along many of his signature techniques across his whole portfolio, almost like a stamp making sure the viewer knows that this is undoubtedly his work. His series from a visual standpoint are unmistakably his and striking, making subtle use of dutch angles in order to disorientate the viewer, a use of low key lighting, with deep shadows and high contrast in order to create a sense of isolation and loneliness and transitioning from detailed paintings to normal animation and vice versa. One technique in particular was the use of negative colors which was incorporated in a flashback and came across as very really striking.
I’m really enjoying the story so far. It’s very simple and easy to follow but fun all the same. Things seem to be getting into motion and the introductions are all done and dusted so I think things will get more interesting from now onwards. I really look forward to watching more and seeing how it goes on.

Saying that all that gets licenced are fan service and moe shows is quite inaccurate. I mean, look at the announcements at MCM London. Shows like Knights of Sidonia, Aldnoah Zero, Fate/Stay Night, Madoka, Railgun/Index, ect. I'm sure there are more I'm just not thinking of. Hell, there is a distinct lack of moe shows in the line up, I wish there were more.
