Aldnoah.Zero ep 1-12 (Complete)

I slept on it after watching the entire thing in one go. I've had to think about this pretty hard since I wasn't really sure what my opinion was after I finished watching. I think I can finally say I found the show an good entertaining show, but incredibly flawed and lacking proper plot and character development.

The music for the series was decent but mostly forgettable except for one track that played every so often that just made that scene feel epic. I felt the ending was
extremely anti-climatic, and will look at watching season 2 at some point hoping it will shed some light onto that.

I'd give the show a 7/10 for entertaining me for a night, but being very flawed in the process.

Hibike! Euphonium 2 - Episode 13 (complete)
Great episode and a great conclusion to the show. Wasn't entirely sure what this episode would bring and feared it would just drag on a bit. That was definitely not the case; the episode was simply brilliant and left me speechless. Really want to own both seasons on Bluray now.:D

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion-Episodes 5-8

The cat episode was dumb as hell, but everything else has been pretty good.

Sound! Euphonium S2-Episode 13 (Complete)

A nice little wrap up episode. Not quite the confession I was after, but I still liked it a lot. Honestly, I have loved Sound! S2 from beginning to end, and it's the first 10/10 I've given since Steins;Gate back two years ago. I think School Live came close though, that will probably be a 10/10 when I rewatch. I really can't wait until AL release both Sound seasons on BD, I really want to watch it all over from the start, with both seasons back to back, to see how it works as a whole.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories - Episodes 7 - 13 [Final] (Blu-ray) & Mayfly of Space 1 & 2 (Blu-ray)

A truly fantastic OVA series full of gripping drama and awesome action sequences.

Drifters s1 ep 11-12 (complete). Very entertaining, in a dumb kind of way, though I can understand why some people couldn't get along with it. The humour is jarring in it's implementation, but after many years of watching anime I'm used to that by now. Looking forward to season two, whenever that will be...

Lucky Star (rewatch) ep 1-14. Been rewatching this over chrimbo. Some of the jokes are showing their age now, and the subject matter they reference is starting to be lost to time, but I still love this series. This was my first real introduction to the otaku phenomenon, and was quite the eye opening (and baffling) experience back in 2011, so there is a lot of nostalgia in this for me.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans s2 ep 12-13. Gundam can always be relied on for great battles.

Occultic;Nine ep 9-12 (complete). Well that made sense, kinda. A very rushed ending though, with little pay off for the viewer. A pretty average series in the end, even if I did find it strangely compelling to watch.

The Great Passage ep 9-11 (complete). An ultimately fascinating story told in a very realistic manner, with characters that are very well developed and feel like real people. This is very much a series for the older and more thoughtful anime fan. Also, best (and most natural feeling) use of a timeskip I've yet seen in anime.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion-Episodes 9-13

Started getting into this a lot more now. Action is fantastic, and I really dig the whole double life aspect, especially with what's currently going down with Shirley. Will be very interesting to see playout.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan-Episodes 1-3 (Rewatch)

In preparation for seeing Part 2. I honestly wasn't very hot on the first half of this series so I'm not exactly massively enthusiastic about watching the first half again, but seeing as I remember quite little about it, I thought it's for the best.

Flip Flappers-Episode 13 (Complete)

I was starting to lose track of what was going on a little bit towards the end, but overall I've thoroughly enjoyed this show, if for nothing else than its visuals and both Cocona and Papika. Definitely one I'll be buying.

Denkigai no Honya-san episodes 3-6

"it's dubbed 'Schrodingers panties' " this moment made me spit my cereal out, well done anime!
I'd say Denki-Gai is a somewhat underrated/overlooked show, it has some fairly solid character development and some well considered humour. Saying that, it doesn't necessarily start as well as it could and there are a few questionable moments. It's maybe not a top level show but I think it's a pretty good one. Certainly worth a go for fans of slice of life comedy shows.

I haven't watched so much recently and I'm also pretty far behind on posting about things. Oh well, I don't think I watched so much that I'd like to say a lot about anyway. I'm still tempted to post something on Blood Blockade Battlefront but I might have to watch it again first at this point. I think it deserves some sort of mention, though, because I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I did also watch Ouran High School Host Club again. It's really a brilliant show and holds up surprisingly well. I think the real strength of the show is it's characters, much of the show is a silly comedy but the characters have more depth than you might initially expect and that's used to great effect in some of the more dramatic segments. It doesn't end as well as it could (and the two episode finale having to follow one of the best episodes probably doesn't help) but it's still strong overall and there are some real standout episodes. It's not a show to judge by appearances (and that's kind of one of the themes) and it's the sort of thing that I'd be inclined to recommend to almost anyone.

Come to think of it, there are probably some similarities between Blood Blockade Battlefront and Ouran High School Host Club, at least in terms of both having a bit more depth than you might initially expect (and both have some solid character work too).

The Heroic Legend of Arslan-Episodes 4-6

Geive is a pretty cool guy.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion-Episodes 14-16

Mao stuff may have overstayed it's welcome a little bit, and felt a bit like a side plot, but it looks like that's over now. Oh well, at least it gave us an interesting revelation about Suzaku, I'm sure that'll be interesting.
