Your anime viewing journal

Watched up to episode 14 of Mushi-Shi Next Passage. Man, episode 13 really hit me hard towards the end.

Adore this show, wish someone like AL would do it justice with a nice release.

Clearned my Anime Backlog out, which now frees me up to find a job (boo hiss)

anyway, most recently watched Owarimonogatari, excellent as ever, and I really liked the new character. Roll on the probable final series of it i guess!
and on the dirty pleasure harem front, Absolute Duo which i would rate as middle of the road and watchable, and World Break which was damn good and makes me wish Yen Press would pick up the light novel.

Oh, and i rewatched Overlord, becuase who can ever have too much Albedo and Clementine? Not me, that's for sure...

Garden of Words. Very pretty animation (obviously), and interesting characters, but the story was cut short very suddenly at the end. The little bit after the ED made up for it somewhat, but it's still frustrating to become invested in it only to have it end in that way.

Kiss Him, Not Me
ep 11-12 (complete). I found this very funny early on, but as it progressed I lost some interest as the core premise showed no signs of progress, which made the last fifteen minutes a nice surprise (though the last minute left me feeling trolled).

Long Riders ep 10. This felt like a final episode, even though it isn't. The last two episodes won't be shown until February, because reasons.

Lucky Star
ep 15-24 & OVA (rewatch complete). A classic. When I first watched this six years ago I found the subject matter both educational and baffling. When I watch it now I find myself agreeing with nearly everything Konata says, which is quite alarming to be honest.

Yesterday (3/01/17)

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
-Episodes 23-25 (Complete)

Really hope S2 can do justice to that cliffhanger.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan-Episodes 14 and 15

Today (4/01/17)

The Heroic Legend of Arslan
-Episodes 16-19

Bleach-Episodes 317-319

Oh goodie, clones. Well, if this arc is nothing but an excuse to settle arguments about which captain could totally kick which other captain's arse, I'd be totally fine with that.

Fate/Grand Order: First Order

Not the trainwreck I was expecting it to be from the ridiculously expository opening part, but a pretty unremarkable film that makes little effort to avoid feeling like a word for word adaptation of the tutorial section from the videogame it's based on. Although Evil Saber did get burnt alive inside a giant wicker man. Did that... actually happen?

Konata possesses wisdom beyond her years. :D

Oh, wait and see, my friend. Wait and see... ;)

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon OVA
Fate/Grand Order: First Order.

Grand order needs a second film. First one just felt unfinished and the way it ends suggests there should be a follow on.

Akiba's Trip ep1

Please make it stop, mother.

Okay, it's not that bad, but I think I knew within around thirty seconds that this would not be a show for me, and unless future comments suggest it has hidden depths, it's not something I'll be coming back to. The animation is kind of nice, and there's something rather meta about a studio founded by ex-Gainax members now pretending to be Studio Trigger, but it just feels like slightly grubby chuuni wish fulfilment.

Akiba's Trip The Animation ep1: Not something I can see myself following, but it was ok and I played one of the games (so if anything it felt restrained). It's all downhill from here, isn't it?

Ai-Mai-Mi Surgical Friends ep1: Oh, it's the third season of something where I don't even remember seeing any previous seasons. There are cute dizzy girls and they're in a school club but that's irrelevant; it's a madcap comedy in a similar vein to Lucky Star. Their knees are blushing. Not my cup of tea. Needs more surgery.

Cool, my opinions were pretty much identical so it saves me writing them up!
Though as a non-Type-Moon person I was pleasantly surprised by previously-known-as-Lancer's strangely skimpy attire for half of his appearance time.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan-Episodes 20-22

So is Etiol actually a girl or just a cute guy with long hair? I don't think they actually said either way...

Bleach-Episodes 320 and 321

Stop trying to make Kon part of the story. It's painful.

KonoSuba-Episodes 1-3

The panties bit in Episode 3 had me laughing way harder than I should have been.
